The official family motto is ‘Create and prosper’ if I understand the latin correctly. Unofficially it’s ‘We’re all DOOMED!”

For the pedants amongst you i realise that it is not strictly a legitimate latin phrase

It’s not even a latin phrase at all:

The two most common variations translate as follows: illegitimi non carborundum = the unlawful are not carbon silicate, illegitimis non carborundum = the unlawful don’t have carbon silicate.

My motto, if I have one, would be to just say yes.

My wife has adopted the Land Rover one of “One life, live it” as her personal motto.

I’m not sure what mine is.

Do unto others before they do unto you.

Have a plan. Have a backup plan. Because the first plan won’t work.

Ex-wife had some nobility in the distant family whose motto translated as “Little Is Enough”. Can’t recall the Latin. Coat of arms featured a rampant squirrel, too.

    Hardly inspiring.

Thurman Merman – I’m certainly inspired by a rampant squirrel. Who wouldn’t be? All these lions and dragons and stuff are massively over-rated IMHO, and SOOOOOOOOOOOO predictable. A rampant squirrel shows a bit of imagination, at least. Was it surrounded by angry worms?

“Hold my Pint and watch this”

    I’ve got 2 –

“Aw **** it, it can’t be that hard”

    and

    “Oops….”

Often it’s one followed by the other.
