Some 800mm wide jones bars with a silly paintjob. Not made for me and mainly because I could. 🙂

#framebuildingsecretsanta A mystery gift for @dear_susan_bicycles 800mm wide Jones bars with the centre section painted in a marbled "anti-gravity breakfast" paint scheme. High polish and there's an egg hidden in the paintjob somewhere. Looking forward to seeing these attached to a bicycle. I also got this sick picture of Saul yawning . . . #jonesbikes #custompaint #4130society #bikes #noboringbikes #eggs #madeinscotland

@eddiebaby How on earth do you land that glider again ?
I’m stunned at how fast that thing is :o)
That is slow compared with Dynamic Soaring gliders. They are pushing continuous laps at just under 500mph.Posted 1 month ago
Landing isn’t too bad. Flaps to slow it down to a reasonable speed and then you are landing into a strong wind that knocks more off the ground speed. It is a bit fraught though.thenorthwindMember
Made a house number for my mum who’s just moved. I thought about buying her one of those classic art deco white-on-blue enamel signs you see all over France, but thought it might look a bit out of place in Halifax! So I went for the same typeface, but cut out of 4mm steel plate and stuck to a bit of old roofing slate. It looks a bit too modern at the moment but the hope is it’ll rust evenly and contrast a bit better with the slate.Posted 4 weeks ago
Hi edd. I’m in Warwickshire so it’s probably a bit far out to be worth it.
Try Peter Millard. He’s in London. He’s got a really good Youtube channel too.
I don’t know him personally but his videos are good.Posted 2 weeks agosirromjMember
Keys & (lightweight) coats hanger. Another small basic project for me. I do sometimes wonder why I don’t go out and buy something ready made but I just keep buying pieces of wood for project ideas that may or may not get made instead. Liking those cupboards Kayak23, very nice.

Project clearout day. The engineless moped. We lost parts of this during the last cleanup so had to weld a steerer extension in and weld a bit of headtube on to allow it to use a bike headset. It's missing headlights but the speedometer still works. It's a fixie because the freewheel is rusted solid. I like it, but it's terrible. Truly truly terrible. . . . #freakbike #freakbikersunite #piaggio #anglegrinding #framebuilding #bikes #bicicleta

Experimental metalformers. Recreating some of the tube forms seen in Taiwanese bike factories to get the heavy bends in thinwall tubes repeatably without wrinkling. These are 3d printed and filled with epoxy instead of being cnc machined from steel. Here's our process. With @armourcustombicycles and prints by @jeffcapeshop @cityofhops this one's for you . . . #framebuildingtools #framebuilding #3dprinting #pla #4130society #bikes #metalworking #sculpture

My new workbench in preparation for building new kitchen cabinet doors. It’s not finished yet but is well on the way, I’m also going to set a router in it at the other end to the table saw.Posted 1 day ago
After using the saw for a bit tonight I’m seriously going to have to sort out some dust control!
