Not what I immediately imagined when I was told it was “nails” here

Misleading photo disclaimer: this is the ‘closed’ (read: ‘no longer maintained’) track at La Flegere, end June 2013. The reason people ought to ride Chamonix is the flowy singletrack footpaths, which provide days, weeks or years of enduro/XC/freeride fun).

Thanks for posting the pic Tom.

Perhaps we should get the guys from Stans to ride this line – the ultimate test for No tubes sealant

    [/b] btw
Tom is the lanky one who works in Zero G, purveyors of fine bikes and spares. He is the creator of the Chamonix trail book, a must buy if you want to push you trail knowledge in the valley.

I’ll be honest we had a tough time riding cham from 29th june-5th july (a week ago), luckily the mont blanc tunnel leads you to pila, which is flecking awesome. Wont be going to cham ever again, overpriced, crap riding (if yer a fat bastard), and very much hard work. Tom in Zero G is a V nice and amusing chap, he did mention to us, on day one, that you really had to work to get a good ride here. If I was a fit bloke and not a fat bloke, I am sure cham would have been ace, but TBH I can work my arse off at home and get great trails, I go to the alps for lifts and ease of access to the down stuff. I think what peed me off most about cham was that you need a car to get to pretty much any lift, in M, you can arrive in the village and ride wherever, whenever for bloody miles without a car..
