What Adjustable Seatpost

Looking at getting an adjustable seatpost to save me stopping and getting off and changing my saddle height at the top and bottom of every hill.

Can anyone recommend a decent/good quality seatpost?

Apart from only letting you drop to 1″ and 4″ settings, and won’t drop as far as 5″. Which the Superstar/Pure Racing/KS i900 will, and let you choose anywhere from 0″ to 5″ drop

Another vote for the GD. I’ve had mine for 16 months and it’s been very reliable. In that time I’ve had to grease the workings twice and I’m about to replace the cable outer this week as it’s frayed at the ends.
If mine broke I’d buy another as friends running the Joplin have had loads of issues and having tried the i900 and found it slow and sticky I’m not convinced it’s going to be any better even though it has that extra inch of drop.

My KSi900 drops slightly without you pressing the lever, pretty annoying. Also the seat clamp comes loose sometimes.

Other than that its good – good to have so much drop and to be able to put it wherever you want it. Not sure I would recommend it overall though.

Whatever one you get (I have a maverick remote & it’s great) I’d sugges† using a rear mud guard with it – not the best look but it keeps the post clean & helps reliability (plus a dry ar$e is a good thing in my book).
