Not heard this mentioned so far but what if Trump really is experiencing a form of mania/psychosis related to having covid/long covid and when you add in the cocktail of drugs he received at the time/could well be still on them isn’t it now time to call a halt to his presidency?.
frankconwayFree MemberBarr had many opportunities to criticise trump but chose not to; better late than never.

grumFree MemberThe conservative media in the UK has disgraced itself this last year.
Indeed. Also I seem to remember various people on the right complaining about the BBCs ‘woke agenda’ and anti-Trump bias, how comparing him to autocrats and dictators was outrageous – those comments haven’t aged well have they.

It certainly is time, but I think the simplest explanation is the theory TJ reminded us of the other day: he has narcissistic personality disorder. Therefore he believes he cannot fail, and therefore any negative outcomes are due to people conspiring against him. I remember this being discussed earlier in his presidency; I still think it’s true.
inksterFree MemberGrum,
My Favorite is Niall Ferguson, who has been blathering on for the last couple of years about how people who see echoes of the 1930’s in what’s happening now are mistaken, and what we are seeing is more like the 1500’s and the information revolution launched by the invention of the printing press. He couldn’t see that elements from both eras could be run concurrently.
Checked his Twitter account yesterday and had to laugh when he said he’s considering rethinking that synopsis and that he “might” have been wrong.
I’d invite him to revisit everything else he’s ever said or published and apply to it the same scrutiny.
inksterFree MemberDo you remember when you were a child and you watched the election results play out on TV and mistook it for a horse race as the numbers came in?
That’s Trump, wether or not he’s suffering from mania or psycosis, the truth is that the man is a child.
slowoldmanFull MemberHe’s a narcissist and sociopath at best, but possibly a psychopath.

He’s just a nasty self serving prick of a man in my opinion. Not suffering from a mental disorder or mania from Covid or drugs. Some people are just massive **** and he’s one of the biggest

Would be interested to hear from tinribz, robdixon, 5thElefant or even ninfan- who put so much effort into telling us trump wasn’t a fascist….

TwodogsFull MemberIs it me or does that look like a kid thats glued his pubes to his face?
It’s been spotted that he’s wearing his work security pass on his lanyard. His employers have fired him 😂
MrSparkleFull MemberTrump did say that they are special people. That one looks very special to me.
tjagainFull MemberTrump clearly has narcissistic personality disorder. IN his mind he is always a winner and always right. He knows the election was rigged because he never loses. Thus the fact that everyone else is running away from him even previously loyal acolytes will be causing him immense distress and cognitive dissonance. I fully believe the reports he is raging angry, paranoid and has totally lost any grip of reality as a result of this.
None of his crazyness is an act or calculated. Its a product of his personality disorder
Clearly unfit to be president with raging paranoia and no connection to reality
Tom-BFree MemberIt looks like the result of one of those ‘face swap’ apps! Genuinely looks like a childs face photoshopped on!
molgripsFree Memberwhat if Trump really is experiencing a form of mania/psychosis related to having covid/long covid and when you add in the cocktail of drugs he received at the time
The current behaviour is entirely consistent with his whole life, so no I don’t think that’s the case.
p7eavenFree MemberBBCs ‘woke agenda’ and anti-Trump bias, how comparing him to autocrats and dictators was outrageous – those comments haven’t aged well have they.
It’s only just begun. UK Trumpers are legion. They are sick to the back teeth of the BBC, ITV and Ch4 etc, and are trying to get rid of the beeb altogether. Expect 2027 it will bow gracefully out with a final kick in the back. BBC World Service may remain in some capacity. Andrew Neil just got £60m injection to bring a new ‘Fox-News-style’ right-wing channel to help satisfy/feed/grow the UK appetite for continued sticking it to foreigners, Muslims, immigrants, ‘the left’, BLM, the PC Brigade, wearing facemasks and whatever else. Oh yeah, the ‘Global Warming’ lie. Etc etc. Because conspiracy is always a balance for science. Fair and ‘balanced’, see? Nothing to do with stoking outrage and division for £££. Nothing at all. 😐
All in the pursuit of balance you see. Because as you know, the silver-tongued cuddly fash such as Farage, Hitchens (the wrong one), Laurence Fox, and that one I forget (who is like a camp, posh Yaxley-Lennon, softly telling us how white people are being displaced and that he doesn’t have a voice etc) will be on repeat-rinse.
GB News’ management team includes chief executive Angelos Frangopoulos, the former head of Sky News Australia
Expect GB News to more like Sky News Australia. The current momentum/£££ is for right-wing conspiracists, and the UK has a MASSIVE appetite for it via social media and the tabloids but they want more. Right now they are fixating on the seriousness of Covid 19 being a ‘left wing’ invention
.
martinhutchFull MemberPress secretary turns up to say that they are ‘working on’ a peaceful transition. Interesting phrasing. Given that Pence has been incommunicado all day, I wonder if a Trump resignation is finally incoming? ‘I’ll resign if you pardon me..’ type bullshit. Pence could well have presented two options to him – go with some fake dignity, or get turfed out using the 25th.
To be followed up with Pence claiming this was ‘the best way to heal moving forward…’ or somesuch.
grumFree Member“Nothing is ever enough. This is far beyond garden-variety narcissism; Donald is not simply weak, his ego is a fragile thing that must be bolstered every moment because he knows deep down that he is nothing of what he claims to be.”
“The fact is, Donald’s pathologies are so complex and his behaviors so often inexplicable that coming up with an accurate and comprehensive diagnosis would require a full battery of psychological and neuro-physical tests, that he’ll never sit for,” she writes at another point in the book.
Mary Trump also describes her uncle as having been sheltered from the real world and from the consequences of his own behavior. “Donald has been institutionalized for most of his adult life, so there is no way to know how he would thrive, or even survive, on his own in the real world.”
Trump, 74, has also been enabled throughout his life, she writes, by people who have permitted him to violate rules and mores with impunity.
Trump’s presidency and the multiple crises currently engulfing the nation, Mary Trump writes, are the “end result of Donald’s having continually been given a pass and rewarded not just for his failures but for his transgressions — against tradition, against decency, against the law, and against fellow human beings.”
CaherFull MemberSpoilt rich kid that always got his own way. Talks about “war” on this and “war” on that but his family’s manipulation of the system kept out of Vietnam. Like his redneck Nazi followers he has a delusion complex. Which is dangerous when you have that much power. Tiny handed Nero.
somafunkFull MemberFinally a whitehouse press briefing from Kayleigh McEnaney, all 60 or so seconds of it below.
Well I guess that’s the “scuffle”* all cleared up, nothing else to really say is there?

inksterFree Member“and that one I forget (who is like a one-man camp, posh Yaxley-Lennon gig) will be on repeat”
Do you mean Douglas Murray by any chance? Frequently writes for the telegraph and the spectator and pops up on any alt right you tube channel or talk (spew) radio show that’ll have him?
Whenever I see him I say to myself in that Captain Manwearing voice:
“Stupid boy”
tjagainFull MemberThose who are working in this building are working to ensure an orderly transition of power.
Thats a very telling form of words to me. Everyone is leaning on trump to go?
martinhutchFull MemberI just posted exactly the same thing, TJ.
Apparently there is a bit of a ‘Downfall’ vibe in the bunker right now.
BREAKING NEWS: @cnn @Acosta reports GOP sources close to White House say Trump “unstable, ranting and raving” and “bent on destruction in his final days.” We cannot take the nuclear codes away from him. We must take him away from the nuclear codes – before it is too late. pic.twitter.com/u2Czj7bUyA

p7eavenFree Member@inkster, yes that’s the one. Not stupid, just dangerous and motivated. It’s a business model, feeding the ongoing narrative of white supremacy and ‘the Marxinists are going to get you/are controlling you/are eating your children’. He will be well paid. A lot of very angsty and disillusioned rabble to rouse come the Brecession proper. Haven’t figured out who the GB News anti-cycling mouthpiece shall be as yet. It’s like playing Fascisty Football in my head. Shittest game ever. They are all some version of Alex Jones and/or Tommy Gobinson
kimbersFull MemberOur government are still pumping out the same jingoistic populist nonsense
As the PM @BorisJohnson just announced: 1.5m vaccinated ?????????

It has consequences
Patients refusing to have the Pfizer vaccine as they are waiting for the English one !
And there's me just hoping I can get to 28 days post injection without catching it and hoping for a second dose.https://t.co/9iCKhU0qCh

inksterFree MemberHow the f*** was she let out of her cage? Her still being a spokesperson indicates that Trump has at least some remaining influence. The optics were that Pence had cabinet members had quietly taken control and locked Trump in his room with a TV remote and a pack of jelly babies?
This needs to come to an end, he has to be forcibly removed NOW.
Edit:
I was just waiting for her to blame Antifa.
somafunkFull MemberI can imagine Trump has the sort of character that will choose to smash all the toys and destroy everything rather than allow others to play and participate, if that is the case, and I can easily envision such a scenario playing out in the whitehouse at this moment then there is no choice but to remove him, to leave him in place will damage the Republican Party for years to come.
reluctantjumperFull MemberI hope he is removed by the morning otherwise he will be doing untold damage to whatever he can. He won’t get anywhere near the Red Button though, far too many hurdles to overcome on his own.
Maybe he’ll set fire to the Oval Office or something.
p7eavenFree Member@inkster, yes that’s the one. He’s not stupid, he’s an accomplished grifter. It’s a business model, feeding the ongoing narrative/paranoia of white supremacy and ‘the Marxinists are going to get you/are controlling you/are stopping you listening to the truth yadayada’. He will be well paid. A lot of very angsty and disillusioned rabble to rouse come the Brecession proper. Haven’t figured out who the GB News anti-cycling mouthpiece shall be as yet. It’s like playing Fascisty Football in my head. Shittest game ever. They are all some version of Alex Jones and/or Tommy Gobinson.
‘Hi, I’m posh Alex, and here’s even posher Alex. We are at war against information. And here’s Northern British Alex. He’s at war against the wokeist transexuals and the globalist Muslim soymilk girlyboy communists who force you to wear masks in your own town. We aren’t taking it any longer. Britain now has a voice!’

Don’t do Twitter so could be out of context.NorthwindFull MemberClassic Mcmenememenemeny, “But BLM!”
OTOH at 10 seconds in she does say “we condemn it, the president, and this administration, in the strongest possible terms” which is pretty reasonably

He might be having some effects (I said at the time that I don’t think he’ll ever stop taking the steroids- he was enjoying it too much, felt “better than he had in years” and I don’t think we’ve ever seen the withdrawal effects that he probably would have had if he’d stopped. And even without any other conditions, just that feeling of energy and elevation could easily change his actions.
But, at most it’s just amplifying a little/taking away whatever internal censor he ever had- nothing he’s done in the last few days is really inconsistent with before he got covid.
I suppose it could make a useful excuse to get rid of him? But that’s all.
inksterFree MemberP7eaven,
Dangerous and motivated yes but stupid still.
I’m sure he has a degree from Oxford and all that but when one considers that everything he says is falsifiable wrong I think the epithet ‘Stupid’ fits perfectly.
The problem is that we frequently see bad faith actors like him given airtime on QT and Newsnight etc to air their views on volatile topics, all in the interest of balance of course. The presenters of such shows always fail to point out that there is no truth or fact in what he is saying. I do wonder if it’s because they’re all Oxbridge chums together, and afford him a level of respect (and intelligence) that his utterances do not possess and he does not deserve.
He’s like a low rent Ben Shapiro.
