Tucker Carlson

A man who looks permanently baffled who has a history of spouting utter drivel on Fox has surpassed himself by claiming that Biden relationship with his wife is a fraud and she is his nurse because he is senile.
Remember his own lawyers said in his defence that everything he says should be viewed as a lie.
Just hate the man, utterly evil.
hatterFull MemberHe is quite the piece of work.
And if he ran for the Republican nomination in 2024 then, with the GOP in the state it’s in right now, he’d take it by a landslide against pretty much anyone but Trump himself.
President Tucker.. it’s not impossible, terrifyingly so.
MSPFull MemberDamn it, I got my hopes up he was dead when I saw he had a thread.
KlunkFree Memberit’s the race to the bottom in the ratings war with newsmax and oan (and coming here soon)
PJM1974Free MemberI don’t wish harm on anybody, but I must express my dissatisfaction with the fact that Carlson hasn’t yet suffered from a bout of explosive haemorrhoids live on Fox News.
mrchrispyFull MemberThe thing is I dont think these type of people actually believe 90% of the crap they come out with, they just say what they think the idiots want to hear.
apart from the massive paycheck and big house….how can they sleep at night?
FuzzyWuzzyFull MemberThe thing is I dont think these type of people actually believe 90% of the crap they come out with, they just say what they think the idiots want to hear.
For sure – it’s just about making money. I think it’s a progression from TV ‘churches’ scamming idiots out of their money by promising god will save them. Right-wing BS spouters like Rush, Alex Jones, Tucker Carlson etc. just promise the idiots it’s someone else’s fault they don’t have the life they want. I guess Tucker is a bit more indirect as he’s employed by a corporate although it wouldn’t surprise me if he has other sources of income thanks to his right-wing BS.
NorthwindFull Member“he tells it like it is”
TBH a lot of these guys are frantically trying to re-establish their place, since the Trump true believers have gone so absolutely mental and now think Fox News is part of the mainstream liberal media. And it’s way easier to lurch towards the madness than it is to recenter.
It’s kind of brilliant to see so many of these scumbags suddenly getting disowned by their cult and declared to be RINOs and all that but it’s going to cause a massive increase in proper unpleasantness, because it’s pretty much the only place they have left to go.
DaffyFull MemberHe just claimed that all the power outages in Texas are cased by frozen wind turbines and that they’re now “just sitting there like the fashion accessories they really are”. The fact that they can provide upto 20% of Texas’ power under moderate conditions is neither hear no there…
NorthwindFull MemberYup, I posted about that in the Texas thread but it bears repeating. Texas’s power shortage is almost all because of natural gas- somewhere less than 20% of the troublesome offlined capacity is from renewables. Probably somewhere less than 10%.
(I can’t say for sure how much, because almost all of the reporting is misleading, even when it’s not intentionally false; there’s 16gb of renewables offline in texas, but that’s not because of the storm. In winter only 6gb of all generation comes from renewables- most of the renewables fleet is designed to meet the higher summer demand and isn’t winterized. So the “offline” wind turbines, solar plants etc weren’t supposed to be online in the first place.
We do know that it’s definitely not 16gb. But we also know that even if it were 16gb, that’d still only be about half as much as the shortfall caused by natural gas outages so even the biggest exaggeration still doesn’t prove their point. Mathematically, the most it can possibly be is 6gb, that’s if not a single renewable source was operating, and that’s 20%. In reality, it looks like the real percentage of the shortfall caused by renewables underperforming is well under 10%
Of course this is like the Brexit Bus- by saying “Yeah but renewables are only 10% of the problem” I’m still letting the liars set the agenda. Texas’s problems have absolutely nothing to do with renewables, 0%. They don’t really have much to do with gas. It’s really about grids, and that’s really about profiteering and insular right wing texas politics where people would rather freeze than be part of the federal grid.
And they’re attacking the green new deal, which includes as part of it plans to upgrade and modernise power grids, which is exactly what is needed to prevent things like this.
jamj1974Full MemberRealised this thread isn’t referring to Todd Carty’s legendary Grange Hill character. Disappointed.

The real evil is the TV network owners who use idiots like Carlson to do their dirty work for them. I found it hard to believe its perfectly legal to go on national TV and present your own personal opinion as FACT without any proof to back it up in the USA. Carlson is nothing more than an actor masquerading as a news reader and the fact so many people believe his b******t is genuinely disturbing. I’d like to say ‘only in America’, but the way this country is headed doesn’t bode well
KucoFull MemberI’m surprised there isn’t a warning at the bottom of the screen warning everything this man says is pure bullshit. Glad that creep Lou Dobbs has been canceled shame they won’t cancel Tucker Carlson.

Brexit got done didn’t it?
Now the BBC are a Tory government mouthpiece and GBNews on the way to deliver some of that ‘fair and balanced’ nuanced opinion as exemplified by Fox ‘News’.

The future is a spam sandwich rammed up the other end until the cows come home. Goodnight UK. Tabloidism was always the English contribution. Talk radio is juts the talking version of tabloids. The US version may be more fire and brimstone ‘praise the lord and name the enemy’, but England have arguably been doing this for just as long, minus the bible bits. Talk radio began in the US in the 1930s. Meanwhile
In 1931 Conservative former prime minister Stanley Baldwin denounced the media barons who had become his enemies by repeating Kipling’s words: “What proprietorship of these papers is aiming at is power, and power without responsibility—the prerogative of the harlot throughout the ages.”
inksterFree MemberHHe’s definitely the front runner for the Republican nomination as things stand. Murdoch has long influenced politics but this would be his wet dream, the possibility that his network could actually groom a candidate for the presidency. Murdoch was always ambivalent about Trump and as such would throw all of his weight behind Carlson and abandon Trump.
inksterFree Memberp7eaven,
Let’s remind ourselves that Andrew Neil greeted the initial footage of the Capitol siege with the tweet:
“I’ve seen more people at a St. Mirren game”.
There’s a fitting epitaph for your tombstone Mr Neil.
Quite possibly the wrongest any journalist has ever been.
