Any tips on how to install a star nut to a steerer.

Remembering trying a few years back and gave up in the end (took to LBS).

Now need to try again so any tips welcome.

    Thanks.

Bend the bottom tangs in a bit to help you start. don’t use the shiny bolt you want in there at the end. **** it. support the fork under the crown. don’t worry if it goes in a bit wonky to start with, you can straighten it out. it doesn’t have to absolutely square at the end either.

Screw an old canti brake block into the SFN, balance the SFN on the top if the steerer and give the block a shart twit with a hammer. Perfick result every time.
