Saracen used to make sublime bikes, the sort of thing early UK MTB riders lusted after. Am sure that many of us here used to look longingly at Kili Ultras etc, back int eh early ’90s.

Then Saracen gave up on quality completely and made utter, utter abominations. The MBUK style of speech, which has many etymological links to txt-speak, translated this in to an insult by saying “UR BIK IZ SARACING” as a way of saying that your dandyhorse was in some way far inferior to the velocipede of the person delivering the insult.

Saracen are now, I am pleased to say, making some fine looking steeds.

Ahhh, was on the right lines. Unfortunately the Saracens I knew when I started riding were the super market specials. I’m aware the Kili was quite a good looking cycle.

I took a flounce a few weeks ago and made the decision that I really should spend much less time and get much less involved on here.

I listened to a few words of reason from a couple of folk and realise that teh endless rehashing of old debates goes nowhere at all just wastes energy and that when I was getting wound up about folks behaviour then I needed to step back and get a bit of reality.

I am also so sick and tired of the behaviour of some folk who make this an unpleasant place to loiter.
