Can anyone give some tips on getting a strong bleed through this type of brake system, at times I feel alot of pressure when trying to use the syringe at the caliper so have to open the bleed nipple further, then when finishing and trying to secure the reservoir bolt it just pours out and I feel loses some pressure, I’ve also tried the burping method which seems to have helped but I feel it could be sharper at the lever, however it cannot be pulled right back to the bars anymore

I had success with a big syringe full at the lever and just pushed all new oil through then closed the bleed nipple, sort of a gravity bleed, you could then re fit the pads and pump the pistons out slightly before undoing the lever syringe, slightly over filling the system might work, tektro have decent piston return to stop rotor rub so you could take advantage of that.

If, like me, you like your brake levers to have little travel, you may find the Tektro feel a little squishy. Over-filling them by advancing the pads and then topping the system up might help. I used to do this with older Shimanos.

Hi guys, back again I’ve tried over filling however I feel like it’s still not a great bleed, I’m moving fluid between the syringes and doesn’t appear to get much air out, however still feels like alot of travel on the lever, can someone talk me through a good process specific to these brakes, I tried to put more fluid in with the brake lever depressed ie pushing the pistons on, however this just feels like a very hard resistance and didn’t seem to work

As a side note I feel my pads are also contaminated with mineral oil as it got into them when I first tried, having learnt a lesson, can this be reversed, I fear it won’t so can order pads if needs be, but I feel I need a solid bleed first to rule this out
