His attention to detail still staggers me.

What happened to the lead keel casting….I don’t think I missed then redoing it after the first disastrous attempt, did I?

Regarding the auction from the last video, the dinghy is now listed for sale on craigslist after the winning bidder pulled out – so if you’d like to buy the boat and can pick up locally, please make me an offer!

bit shit when someone bids then doesn’t pay on these auctions

Dammit, I shouldn’t open this thread as the Thumbnails give to much away. I’m still back at framing,

Knowing that the boat moves, but have yet to get that far

    I’m genuinely worried about Pancho….

    Pancho died weeks ago.

Just kidding, it’s still in the videos from time to time.

Is there anything left of the original boat? So far from memory there’s only the transom at the stern of the boat that’s original. (check out my boating knowledge 🤣)

Is there lots of fixtures and fittings he saved that will go back in or can he re use the wood to make them?

The more I watch the more I think what on earth was he thinking taking on tally ho on his own! Some of the first videos where he is working in his own lifting/moving heavy parts is really impressive.

Great vid, especially liked the heavy duty joinery for the Samson posts.

Indeed, quite nice to see just Leo at it this week as well.

I presume his missus has buggered off?

And the guy who set processes and made the assembly benches I thought he was coming back?

Real dedication and I imagine due to that he’d be very single minded and possible hard work! Though you’d need to be

We’re still on catch up with this, but I’ve been thinking that she’s absent due to covid travel restrictions.

Me and mr B love this, best thing on tv by far. Is there nothing that Leo can’t do? He even grew a new finger, dammit!

Sadly I wondered the same, it’s been very quiet on that front and I’m sure he could have traveled back if he wanted…although it would be pretty tragic if he came back to the UK for a couple of weeks and travel rules changed so he couldn’t get back to the boat for a year

Seems to be coming together quite well now, and once the decks on it should only be 3 years from completion 😆

I hope he’s done all the displacement calculations given its entirely rebuilt. Hate to see it launched and just sink because its too heavy.

She has a displacement of approx 30 tons, and was designed with an external keel of just under 5 tons and an internal (e.g. removable) ballast of 8 tons. Leo stated the old keel was actually closer to 6 tons and is now roughly 8, to allow for less internal ballast. It all depends on the build weight as he says
A ballast ratio of 43% is not excessively high for a yacht of her age so there would be some leeway to settle to her marks
