Is Swinley like Cannock in that a reasonably agressive tyre hooks up best in the soft (?), loamy (?) sandy (?) ground?
Or are we best on the summer tyres (now Autumn tyres too) such as Ralfs with minimum grip?

Ti29er – Swinley is sandy and some of the trails are armoured. I will leave it to others to recommend suitable tyres but at the moment I am using a Nobby Nic on the front and Panaracer Fire XC on the rear.

everyone – polite request for volunteers to possibly help with Slackers group. In January there were 16 Slackers which was too many. If I have to split the group, I will need a leader and sweeper. Thanks.

If i can find a replacement stem for the one i've just killed, i'll be coming retro on the alpinestars. Thoroughly enjoyed riding it today for the first time in 16 years. i'm a rigid convert, new bike time!
