Hurrah! First day of the test summer!

Of course, it's in Cardiff and so it's raining! Who chose Cardiff as the location for the first test of the summer eh? Madness.

Now, my dear old things, what about a spot of cake?

good morning everyone 🙂

hopefully we'll get a bowl first and exploit the conditions.

The monumentous events of the winter seem like a distant memory now. I remeber being huddled under the duvet with one earphone in listening to alistair cook grinding the aussies into the dust.

Morning psychle!! 😉 stop lurking and come and have some cake

Any sighted yet? A rare sight in Wales I believe, since they constitute a primary food source there 😉

Well, well. Did we dare to hope that Cook and Trott would pick up where they left off in oz? With jimmy injured we've got no chance of winning this but I could see us batting for another three days at this rate!

Meh, missed it all as I was having a sleep 🙁 Actually got up at 3.15 and thought I could catch some cricket, but 4 hours sleep in 48 convinced me otherwise. Who'd have thought it???

Morning, everybodeeeee
[/Benaud voice]

Blowers has some rather dashing trews on today.

SL sound a little flat at the start, having opted to bowl. Looking forward to the Tall Ones starting to hurl 'em down once we get out.

Another great innings from Strauss..... 😕

20, 4 and 0 in the series so far. Bah!

Time for some cake. A nice lemon drizzle should sort it out.

358 off 58 overs... that's a pretty good one-day chase don't you think? 😀

Aye, could make for an interesting afternoon if Sri Lanka think they're within a gnat's crotchet of a sniff at the score.

what's the pitch playing like? anything dodgy going on - swinging, turning square, uneven bounce, that sort of thing?

A smidgen of turn out of the footmarks for Swann, but nothing spectacular. It's clouding over a littler, so may be some swing if Broad can get his shizzle together (As Henry would no doubt put it)

So it could be interesting then, particularly if your chaps haven't remembered how to bowl again 😉

Shall we talk about the Ashes then? 😉

Am hoping it doesn't just fizzle out, to be honest.

Looking at the weather forecast for the Rose Bowl, I suspect we may not get that much play this morning...Still, that leaves plenty of time for more TMS waffling! 🙂

And indeed there has been some top level waffling so far! Loved Mark Nicholas's anecdotes about Hampshire. I got rather drunk in the Cowherds chatting with Robin Smith and Alan Lamb once. Boy they could drink!

Nice early wicket after lunch, though!
