    No. Because tomorrow’s Monday.

Weigh in day is every other Friday (except end Mar when there’s an extra to account for 13 weeks in a quarter) but I’ll remind you anyway, and I’ll plan on doing the updates for Sun evening so there’s no issue if you don’t get me the data on Friday itself. I just like Friday because it’s before the weekend and hence I can look good before releasing the reins slightly at the w/e, and also so i get the w/e to input your updates.

If you don’t give me a figure I’ll just roll over the last one you had. No ‘expulsions’ for non-reporting here, although obviously if you do decide to leave let me know and I’ll delete you and avoid having to track you.

Has anyone else found how the first kilo or so drops off fairly easily?

I don’t know the science behind “Christmas bloat” but I’ve decided it’s a thing!

It’s the sugar withdrawals. It’s messing with me faculties.

motivation and willpower are strong. You’ve been imbibing 4000 calories a day, mainly in confectionary and booze. It’s not a major surprise the first few lbs go quick. We’ll need the support in March when it gets a bit harder……

I seem to have been able to cut down on my meal portions a bit, slow and steady approach, will cut down a bit more as we go along and try to take out the bad and replace with the good.

A definite stumbling block is “biscuits with a cuppa” when watching tv in the evenings. I assume the answer is to either pick fruit instead (I mean choose a fruit, not actually go out into the orchard and work as a distraction) or stop watching Telly from the sofa – to break the routine?

Or to just do it with willpower. I’m shit at changing routines but I can manage the willpower thing okay.

I’ve taken to making healthier snacks (than chocolate bars/biscuits) to help out when I’m hungry. I’ve got a ride at lunchtime and I’m getting hungry already so I have this sort of bread-fritata thing with courgettes and spinach which is reasonably low on calories but high in protein and other good stuff. It’ll mean I don’t ride starving at least.

Do you really need to be told that the answer is simply “don’t have the biscuits”? If you really have the need to do something more complicated than that, you could replace them with a portion of MTFU.

I think I might play the Tough Love role in the Chub Club 🙂

as noted a page or two ago, willpower enough isn’t enough for most people. It sounds to me that biscuits with a cuppa is more of a habit than a willpower thing. Can you do without the cuppa, have a glass of water instead.

Or restrict to a cuppa and A biscuit instead of biscuits?

I often snacked in the evenings. I find that having nothing and either playing on the Xbox or reading helps pass the time until I’m tired enough to go to bed is what is working for me.
The test will be after night rides as I tend to pig out a bit after them because I don’t eat before and so I’m starving by the time I get in.

Cheeky weigh in in the office this morning as the scales there I believe are more accurate than the ones at home, and I have weighed on these scales throughout last year and for the start of these topic so keeping it consistant, todays weight 229.2 (down from start weight of 236)

(I try to weigh first thing as I get into office, this is done before breakfast/coffee or anything as i really struggle to eat for the first hour or so)

Was 117.2 Friday morning. This morning I’m 116.1! How did that happen! Happy though, as long as it keeps going that way.

I’m really craving a sugary snack this morning though, and we still have a mountain of left over chocolate at work. Going to resist though, I want to maintain my record of not eating any chocolate/sweets in 2017!

How did we all get on over the weekend?

I was working lates and resisted the usual takeaway option and took in a homemade meal both nights, so that’s a win for me 🙂 Working also meant no alcohol, so off to a good start.

Took a “Before” selfie in the full length mirror last night to give me something to compare when I am well buff in 6 months time.

Immediately deleted it when I realised I looked like creepy serial killer, Buffalo Bill from Silence of the Lambs posing in front of a mirror.

Weigh in day is every other Friday

That’ll teach me to not look in the thread for a couple of days.

    You’ve got (pointless) mail.

I actually put on weight! No exercise, 2x pies and a roast dinner over the weekend.

    Terrible.
The positive is that I did loads of exercise and slept well.
The negative is that I had an all dayer Saturday and so felt crap and comfort ate on Sunday.

Week days I’m fine, weekends are much more of a challenge.

On a positive note I’ve somewhat unbelievably maintained my no crisps/pastry products and general snacking rule. On a not so positive note I went to the footy at the weekend, with the associated massive stomach-lining fry up, followed by all day drinking. Hey ho.

I think that’s all the mince pies out my system now.

No exercise, all diet this week, but then a high initial weight drop is always expected due to all that water weight pissing off.

I feel the need to share with the group.

My name is Simon, and I’ve just had a (large) sausage roll.

My name isn’t really Rob and I’ve just eaten a MASSIVE amount of stir-fried veg flavoured with Chinese 5 spice. Nommy, healthy and (possibly a little too) filling.

Won’t need to eat agen for a while…

I just ate a curry and a naan. The curry was pretty healthy (prawn, almost no oil used in making it etc) but I think the naan has buggered it up for me.

I just ate one of these:

They’re pretty good for the lazy cook, as you just microwave the pouch as is, and eat. £2, so about the same as a portion of chips. Plus filling and only 400 calories.

…I give myself 2 weeks before I crack.

I had a freshly made veggie curry with brown basmati and quinoa for lunch.

Not telling what I ate last night though.

Blackberry porridge for breakfast (258Kcal) and lamb tagine with quinoa tonight (430Kcal)

6 lbs lost in a week on the Blood sugar Diet.

    Weekend was OK.
Went out for an hour on the bike on Saturday morning on just a coffee. Had an omelette when I got back.
Sunday was a longer ride, and set off after having a bagel with (non-sweetened) peanut butter. Resisted the urge to pig out upon return.

Keeping to home prepped lunches at work (veg and a bit of fruit); and largely prepared from scratch food at home (altho Pizza – just half – on Friday evening).

Have not touched booze since last year (am not counting the half a bitter on New year day).

Keep it up everyone and good luck (not that you’ll need it – you’re all disciplined!)

    Large portion. 🙁

Edit: I just had to check my local chippy to see what they charge, seems I was in the right ball park.

I’m a touch over 12st yeah, but I’ve got to hold my hand up to being a bit of a skinny chubster. I ride quite a lot but then eat a lot of crap.

I’d been getting fitter anyway in recent years, but plateaued a while ago and might now be getting slower – so I reckon I need to try to break my crisp & cake habits.
