With a young family, and no commuting by bike I’m quite pleased with my 610 miles this year across about 45 rides. All mountain bike, no road riding miles. You guys able to put in a couple of thousand miles must have a very different home life to mine!
Take every opportunity you can and start making them too. Bad weather = crack on. I had 2 1/2 poor years with 2 children where most rides were a chore as the climbing was hard due to lack of rides.
Committed to commuting and I’ve had 2 very good years and MTB rides are mostly a joy again. If the whole year went perfect I think I could realistically have squeezed in 300 hours riding.
Missed my end of year mile chase when the ice came and now Xmas illness.
2751 miles
236 hours
54000 metres climbed
About 1700 of those miles on the road bike commuting and cramming in lunchtime sessions.
