    Can I fit STI’s to a bike that currently has older style down tube levers and what should I be aware of (if anything) if I can Cheers!

    yes you can, no problem. you will need some downtube cable stops to make it work though

    don’t see why not.

    You’ll have to put some cable guides in the place where the old shift levers were.
