Remove the top part of the seat stays and fit an elastomer, that will let the back end flex a bit more

Let some air out of your tyres and hover a bit more off the saddle, anticipating the trail. Learning to ride properly again can take a while – stick with it. If you’d like to be patronised further, post on.

    Try 30.

Try 38 first and tehn drop in 2 psi increments. If you go down as low as 30 on a hardtail, you’re just gonna pinch flat it.

    LOL

I’m sub-20 on one of mine.

pinch flat if you ride badly. i run about 25/30psi, ride up and down flights of steps, 3/4ft drops and have pinch-flatted once in about 12 months. and that was trying to ride over a 2ft high bench.

    probably tempted fate now….

and yes, lower the post a bit. drop it by an inch or so. you won’t notice it too much on the ups and it allows for a bit more movement on techy bits.

I suppose it also has to do with the type of tyres you are running… With some thin side-wall tyres its probably much easier to pinch than some beefy DH ones.

Yup. Wider rims tend to pinch less too IME. And the fatter the tyre the lower the pressure you can use for the same vertical compression of the carcass.

yeah, that runs true. running 2.4 maxxis advantage on sunringle singletrack rims.

although my other bike, sanderson breath (cro-mo), is much springier than my mates Zaskar (alu) with a similar set-up. a much nicer ride and better looking frame to boot.

2.0 michlin XCR, 20 psi, 717’s, the peaks, only 2 pinch flats in 2 years 🙂

What are you comparing it to, a full susser?
