TLDR: the SRAM Maven Ultimate brakes offer bucket loads in a very usable package. A few rides is by no means a full review yet but currently they seem to be up there with the best.

How are you getting on with the Mavens after over 6 months of use?

I’ve heard some reports of them being hard to get consistent/bled… They tick many many boxes for us for sure… But yeah some longer term ownership stuff would help. There’s deffo a fair few ups and downs on MTBR.com forum which makes me go “hmmmm not sure”

If its like most SRAM a products it’s probably best to wait for the v2 version Thats has all the problems that should have been sorted pre production fixed

I’ve just been watching the loam wolf review long term…. Wow…. deeply troubling.

Running mine for a couple of months now, they are brilliant brakes when they are working. Mine keep developing a wondering bite point after several rides.

I hired a Levo at Glentress that had them on, I didn’t really like how powerful they were with so little feel before locking a wheel. But, after using them, all other brakes I’ve tried seem underpowered in comparison.

my new style codes have the wandering bite point never had it before on code rsc models… if I do the piston massage then they go back to feeling solid and stop on a dime, but a few weeks later once the pads wear they just seem to fade and start wandering again

I was tempted by a set of mavens but it seems it’s even worse on these than the codes I have

Oh dear, the main thing Codes had over Shimano 4-pots was the lack of wandering bite point and generally being pretty low maintenance.
