I’ve heard Sapim are just as good as DT Swiss but cheaper…getting a wheel built – what should I get?

Sapim make great spokes, on a par with DT. Whichever you can get hold of quicker, cheaper, easier etc…

    ACI also make excellent spokes.

I’ve used DT Sapim and ACI on my wheels, and they are all much of a muchness to be honest.

If you’re having a wheel built, I suggest seeking the opinion of your wheelbuilder!

    FWIW, I use DT.

I will use a wheel builder – just want a nice strong wheel – wanted opinions on spokes before I choose 🙂

DT, Sapim, ACI all good – Big Al, who knows such things, says Wheelsmith are the best.

DT Swiss from one of the German shops are my choice.

    Sod all in it though.

I’ve always stuck to ACI in the past, but had a bit of disaster where I lost 3 spokes on my road bike in 3 rides (always on the approach to Langhol, on different roads. Weird) I think the problem was from using 14mm spoke nipples putting too much of a bend in the spoke at the top of the thread. Rebuilt using Sapim Race spokes with polyax nipples and am happy to always use them in the future.
