Ooh, a new one today. There’s a mixer tap in the kitchen, and apparently I must let the cold water run for a minute before filling the water filter jug (yes, I know, let’s ignore that for the purpose of this discussion.) So there’s a small amount of luke warm in the hose to start with, then followed by the cold.

    Why this?

Because ” If you use warm water, it might not go through the filter so well”

    Mmmm. Okay.

Speaking of mixer taps. We have an expensive and aesthetically pleasing angular mixer tap for the bathroom sink. The top plate is a flat rectangle that you lift and turn to the left or right. Is it unreasonable to expect the top rectangle to be returned inline with the bottom rectangle after use instead of left at a jaunty angle? Why design the thing to line up beautifully if it’s not going to ever be left in that position? Yes I’m the director here.
