2 weeks to the Championship starting – perhaps a 23/24 thread is due?

Past couple of years I have started the football thread on league cup day, even though I resurrected the last seasons thread today to make a comment, generally probably a good idea to take a break before the season starts.

Sounds good, I tend to forget football until the restart. Wish it would start in September though.

Does seem ridiculous. And even more ridiculous that one club can sell you to another club you may not want to go to.

I imagine any player in any country being asked the question ‘do you want to go to Spartak Moscow?’ Would only give one answer…

The fact that Daniel Levy is happily prepared to deal with them and sell a player who clearly, with some serious justification, doesn’t want to go, will be sure to add to his universal popularity

I’m also pretty disgusted about the Saudis prepared to spend 1/4 billion on a player when people on the same peninsula are starving.
