It’s not dead for me – just fitted a 29+ front wheel to my 650+ bike to raise the very very low BB a little, and because there’s no downside to it up front. Out back it means a very long CS, or compromised drivetrain options and/or poor clearances unless there’s some monumental tube manipulation going on (which doesn’t always bode well for service life).

There is a downside. The jump from my Hope tech enduro/hans d’s & rock razor to Hugo 52’s with trailblazers is enough as far as steering goes. 29+ is barge-tastic in comparison ;O)

Got enough offset – it’ll be grand. Got another bike with the same rim and tyre but on a Jones fork/hub – slightly more offset, but it’s got super light steering.

Better not be dead. I’ve just ordered a custom Travers Rusty.
Anyway I couldn’t give a big stinking poop if it is. I’ve never been into fatties but I’ve been loving em a bit thicker for 23 years and I ain’t gonna stop now.

Dead happy with my Stache 9. I stupidly bought a 9 when really I wanted a 5. Have probably spent twice what I needed to, but I can always put the forks and dropper back on when I’m just messing about.

Still, someone on MTBR has built up a Stache with B+ wheels, and it looks awesome fun.

    What forks are you using?

Like the look of those Travers frames

    Is there a rigid option?

In answer to the original question….

My new trek stache 5 says “NO!”

How is the Stache 5 Stedlocks?

Does it feel a harsh ride?

Sorry, just seen this…..not harsh at all on my 46 year old bones! I love it to bits and it feels like it was made for me……see my mini write up in the stache thread ;0)
