    Hey poopascoop, sounding more positive
are you at Marsden in Chelsea or Sutton?.or did they just send your samples there?

I think I probably know who did the sequencing on your sample

^^ Hi, in st St George’s in London but some samples were sent to Royal Marsden so I’m told.

Their results changed everything. For the better.

Still a little reluctant to embrace the news totally in case new, erm, news changes things again.

Well time for an update I think!

Firstly, might be going home tomorrow. Chemo duties etc to be handled by my local hospital. I have to leave here by late next week hell or high water either way. Son starts in the police force so can no longer look after my old mum. No way on earth I’d let him sacrifice his new career over this.

Operation to repair cock is on hold for months at least. This is not good news. The operation will be much more difficult and prone to complications due to the scar tissue that will have formed internally by then. To minimise this I will have to:

Do physio on my cock, yes really.

Use a vacuum pump to draw blood into the area multiple times a day. This will also help reduce the effect of the scarring making the length shorten as it heals.

Take small doses of Viagra (the irony) to assist blood flow to minimise extra cell damage.

Basically, joking aside for a second, there’s likely to be lifelong changes due to the priapism and this delay in being able to operate. Operating at the moment is deemed too risky due to an infection I have which they cannot find the origin of. Even with antibiotics its simply a no go.

If only I’d find to hospital earlier. If I had known the consequences id have found someone to look after mum sooner I’m sure but hindsight is a wonderful thing.

To be clear though, the priapism actually happening and being bad enough to get me to A & E, belatedly or not, might have helped me dodge a bullet with the leukemia. If it hadn’t happened for another year or two, well…

Looking forward to getting home and most importantly letting my son return to his new and growing family that miss him terribly. I’ve felt guilty as sin “keeping” him away from his young lad.

I’m also aware that the unpleasant but also strangely comforting parallel reality that is being an inpatient is coming to an end and the real battles are to come. Both with the leukemia and Robocock. I’m also aware that I haven’t really got my head around this new reality anywhere as much as I’d like to believe I have. That worries me more than a little.

I’m likely to be on these tablets for the rest of my life, one of the possible side effects is constant fatigue. That will be a challenge in many ways if I’m unlucky to suffer from it. Selfishly, I worry that it will be the end of my love affair with biking and specifically the North and South Downs. Silly in the grand scale of things but it’s how I feel.

This whole experience has already changed me and it will continue to do so and I’ll try to make those changes positive ones. Even on my most depressed days (I’ve had depression most of my adult life but that’s another thread entirely) I’ll find it hard to take life quite so much for granted as I’ve become accustomed to doing. That alone is a positive.

I’ll keep this thread updated all the time it seems relevant in my life and jokes along the way are both acceptable and encouraged!

Lastly, being a man is so irritating in its predictability sometimes. A particularly attractive urologist was having a chat with me yesterday and some of the news wasn’t great, my cock getting shorter over the next few months being one that comes to mind! Anyway… She goes on to say “but at least it won’t be so much of a problem for you as you are well above average in size.” Well, well, well. Try as I might I could not stop the corners of my mouth start to turn up into the start of a smile.

How bloody predictable. I’ve stared my own mortality in the face but tell me I’ve got a big cock and I’m fit to giggle!

Personally I think she only said it to get a rise out of me.

What a roller coaster of emotions over the last couple of weeks. As you say, however bad this has been, it could have been worse.

    Enjoy the “physio”

Fingers crossed things fall in to place, you get home as planned and you are able to carry on biking in some capacity @Poopscoop. I think you should also create a ghost account on here as @DirkDiggler following that news, certainly made me giggle too.

Edit. Darn, looks like that account is taken! Maybe mods can transfer it?!

Last Friday I finally after having the idea in my head for 35 years rode the SDW in a day. I did it then because it marked what would have been the 100th birthday of my friend and neighbour Steve. He died in the last days of 2019 and I started a thread during lockdown at what I found when clearing his garage.

And if that wasn’t enough motivation I very much had you in mind too Poopscoop, no way I was going to quit no matter how hard it got. I really hope you get back up their in the not too distant future. When I posted on a SDW thread recently and mentioned my plan to do it this year you posted to wish me luck, I hope that luck comes your way and you know this will always be a place you can turn to when it’s difficult as it certainly will be at times.

    Oh, another positive.

Another possible side effect of the drugs I’ll be put on is a windy bott bott.

No matter got bad life is, a good fart always cheers me up and now I can legitimately pay the cancer card if admonished.

Hell, even if the drugs aren’t causing it, no one can prove its not them.😁

I remember the thread about your friends garage. I also remember you posting your intention to ride the SDW in a day and well done on completing it.

Thank you for posting. Im a little emotional here after reading your post but in a good way. A good way.

    Thank you.

There is a lot of positive stuff in your update Poops, even if it is not necessarily obvious to someone who has had their life suddenly and unexpectedly turned upsidedown.

And I get the impression that you understand the importance of focusing on that rather than the “ifs”. Good luck.

Not a stealth ad that’s for sure but I do now wonder if when my oh called me a massive dick a few weeks back it was actually a compliment.

I just thought she was a bit cheesed off with me but now I think she was actually being sweet.

    Who knew?

In fact I might have to re-evaluate some of my exes as they said similar. Often!

You’re the 3rd person I know who was diagnosed with leukaemia following some not related ended them up in hospital.
I can highly recommend attending your local Maggies centre for the monthly haematology group sessions, I found mine really useful shen I needed them and the advice and support we could offer each other were fantastic.

Well glad you’re ok for the most part poopy 😉 This leukemia gig is fairly getting about. or is it that it’s just popular 😕

I got a diagnosis a couple of years back. I’d been sweating buckets from simple working in the garden, so had a blood test, which led then to ask for more blood tests (uh-oh)

Apparently theres something weird with the white platelets and they diagnosed a form of leukemia – apparently theres a number of different strains, not all bad. Maybe a bit debilitating, but I’ve been told its not going to lead to the cancer version, and for me is it apparently natural, so not to worry about it.

This has always been the case with me. I do physical effort i start sweating heavily, but always just put it down to being too hot, but this problem leads to me easily overheating, which then means i sweat a lot more. I didnt really take notice till things got bad enough even simple tasks had me sweating seemingly far more than you’d think was normal.

Funnily enough it was the specialist who seemed more relieved when they finally got me in for the results. I was like meh, but the specialist was literally physically relieved she didnt have to give me some bad-to worse news. I thought she was going to burst into tears or something .

To me its over my head, besides, what really can you do about such things other than accept thats the deal. so i must have had the most neutral reaction to the news.

All the best Poop but I’m curious about what caused the Priapism in the first place…?? Was it directly attributable to the CML?
(Apologies if I missed this in this thread)

might well take you up on that my friend. I will have to ride in a “driving miss daisy” style though. In other words, pretty much for I normally ride.lol Absolutely can’t prang myself at the moment. My old mum would have to go into some sort of emergency care if I went into hospital. Got to put a post up about this actually…

But yeah, a gentle ride would be fab in a few weeks or so. I won’t have a raging erection by then either. I’m sure we both hope that to be the case anyway. Could be a little awkward otherwise.😁

    @dyna-ti

Well, don’t I feel a right bastard for getting all high and mighty with you in the Ukraine thread! Another life lesson learnt and my sincere apologies. I’m glad to hear it’s pretty benign though. caused the Priapism in the first place…??

Most likely, yes. See also sickle cell anaemia as another cause of priapism. Basically the cellular constitution of the blood affects its viscosity and fluid in and out of the chambers. The blood gets in, but doesn’t get out.

Hope all goes well with the recovery poops. The physio sounds erm… interesting. I believe a retired baptist minister and his “friend” Henry might have been doing the same physio. Be careful where you exercise. Just in case.

He was also ordered to pay £845 in court costs and £200 in compensation to the victim who witnessed the sex act.

Good to see that the court recognised the need to compensate the victim for the trauma of witnessing a 74 year old vicar wearing nothing other than lady’s stockings engaged in a sordid and frankly unnatural act with an industrial vacuum cleaner.

And I have to agree with the final comment by the magistrate.

Although I thought Henry had a very cheeky smile in the photo.
