Singletrack site issues : redirecting to iOS app store

Just got hit by the same one :(( twice !

Happened several times to me today using Safari on my iPhone

Me too using an IPad, it’s that scummy BillHill advert.

More network changes made now. Please keep reporting if it keeps happening.

Just browsed for 30 minutes without any redirects.

For the last week or so the site’s been pretty much unusable on my iOS mobile devices here in Switzerland. Last night it was still redirecting so it seems like you’ve switched off the offender in the interim.

3 quick fire redirects within a couple of minutes from the main page. Loveoo, game of war fire age and dragon city mobile.

I get this on my android (as per other thread).. its happens before the 2 ‘advertisment’ modules complete loading. Only for some adverts though, and those that do trigger the lovelinks.us redirect to googleplay never display anything.

I’m feeling left out. Plenty of STW surfing on two iOS devices and never a single redirect. What am I doing wrong?

Just shut down openx network add for the bottom two ad positions. Please report if it still does it for you.

2 days in the cooler.

So far, no redirects, but tonight’s was the first I’d had on the Pad. Fingers crossed.

I’m still getting pop ups on android 🙁

This doesn’t help here obviously but I’m following a Pike thread on Mtbr and it happens everytime I look at it, sometimes more than 3 times. Came as a shock when it happened here too, at least I know it’s not my phone.

Similar here, just tested it on my Android (4.2) phone. Had to reload the page a couple of times, it happens when the adverts at the bottom right load. It redirects to a copy of a Play Store page with an automatic download of the APK installer.

I’m not about to post a photo of the young lady who featured in the ad I was served, although she was apparently enjoying herself.

Edit: I’ve sent the URL served by email, apart from trying to install something nasty it’s also very NSFW!

PS: To all Android users: double-check your security settings, particularly that “allow installation from unknown sources” is NOT activated. The page that opens is a very good copy of the Play Store, I certainly thought it was real until I noticed the URL.

I had (on android) the same problem with a pop-up/redirect on mtbr.com over the weekend.

Ok. Anyone still seeing the williamhill Mecca bingo app redirect?

Had something this morning, (iPhone4, iOS 7.04), when opening loddrik’s tokenism thread. Was just a pointer to William Hill’s app, but not the mecca bingo app.

Q: is it anyway useful to return to the thread (i.e. just going back to Safari by double clicking the home button) and taking a screenshot so you know what ads are being served up on the page at that particular moment, then posting that screenshot here?

I know I’ve not had any NSFW ads on Safari on iOS.

I do miss the Bravissimo ones though. 🙁

Screenshots of the ads in the RH column are useful as are any derived urls, although that is tricky for most on mobiles. just added funme24.com to the shitlist

Sorry, had it again a short while ago, same bloody William Hill app, and the same pop-up asking if I want to go to the App Store. It also kept interrupting me with error messages saying the requested web page couldn’t be opened.
Sorry, I didn’t think to take screen shots that time, but it happened exactly as last time, as I was scrolling down the left-hand side, not touching the screen anywhere near any visible advert link.

I’ve had this a few times over the last few days. Always William Hill app in the app store.

i have just clicked on the link that Kimbers posted in the gun experts thread and it took me straight to the app store to a game called ‘bubble speed’.

I’ve had the problem on mtbr as well – it’s not stw it’s an ad on the mtbr forum that’s caused the problem.

I had it happen last night while browsing Flipboard! Only time it’s happened away from STW, though.

Just adding that I am getting redirected to the App Store for game of war – fire age, from most Singletrack pages. Definitely happens from chat forum and has just happened as I am typing this. Running iOS 7.0.4 on iPad mini. Hard to say for sure, but been happening at least the last three days.

Got a new one today. Loaded a thread and a massive popup appeared saying “YOUR BROWSER IS INFECTED”
Quickly hit the back button before anything else happened.

iPhone 5 safari and the forum is unusable today. Every page takes me to the App Store. Even halfway through reading a thread it just redirects.

Yes. Seems better now but earlier it was a real pain.
