silicone grease??

What is it? Is Lithium grease similar / same?

Its for the coil assembly on my forks.

Used with rubber seals and O rings iirc.

google it, i brought some for a brake rebuild advised by Hope to use it, cost around a fiver

Available in little tubs from plumber merchants / B&Q etc for a few quid.

Also not at all the same a lithium based grease

totally different from lithium grease. its ace for seals etc on disc breaks that use dot fluid. not for shimano and other mineral break systems though.

never used it on forks. rock and roll make a great fork grease though.

For the Pace forks?

Pace always used to use/sell Castrol CL grease rebranded as their own iirc. It's VERY highly recommended for mountain bike applications, way better for most things than lithium based grease because it's much more water resistant. Particularly good when used in wheel bearings…

It's available from Halfords for about £7 a tub iirc.

Rockshox used to advise against using lithium grease in their forks over concerns it reacted with the bushes, IIRC they would even void the warranty if it was used.

shimano and other mineral break systems though.

yes for mineral stuff best use 'red brake grease' halfords also sells this, handy for car applications as well.
