I’m especially interested to see any SWB setups, I think we’ve got a trannie on the way this year, and will be looking at basically doing a day van with bed option.

Here’s our ’86 T3 (T25) Autohomes Kamper rigid pop top, with Outhaus awning kit and woodburning stove. Love it.

Our Vivaro earlier in the thread was SWB with exactly that kind of setup.

Having issues with image posting, sorry about the mess.

Pics from ImgBB appear to post as cropped unclickable thumbnails for some reason n eff knows how to post from Google images.

    Pics here anyway.

Mine isn’t looking quite as nice today – better than the 20 caravans and 7 motorhomes right next to it that were completely burned out in a fire in the storage place on Friday night though!

Not sure how much damage there is yet. There is some heat damage, as well as damage to the window and bodywork caused by the fire brigade.

That’s a bummer. On the bright side though, It’d now make a cool meth lab ala Breaking Bad.

    Jesus thats horrendous.

Just curious, but who foots the bill for that ? the owner of the van that caught fire or the storage place?

Thats not good. Hope you can get it sorted quickly. Your insurer should know who the liability is with, but its still a sickener.

I hope you get early & full resolution from the insurance.

@epicsteve – crikey I hope that can be restored to its former glory.
We had our first van nicked (never found) and thankfully we were paid out in full but it was a 3 month ballache to find a replacement. I kinda wish the old one was found and repaired.

Best of luck getting it all sorted out!

Given this is what the rest of the vehicles in our part of the storage area currently look like then I guess we can’t complain too much (mine is the first intact one you can see, although there was one more between us and the last one that was completely destroyed):

It’s not clear if they’ll be able to identify which vehicle the fire started in but if they do they’re going to be looking at a pretty large claim. My initial conservative guess was about £400K but sounds like it could be more as there was some heat damage to the vehicles across from those destroyed ones.

The insurance are trying to give me the runaround a bit, however I’m expecting a call back from a firm that’ll be taking it away and evaluating the damage. My wife has been over to it again today and it seems watertight so fingers crossed it’s just superficial stuff plus cleaning etc.

    @epicsteve
    – did you get the motorhome fixed or was it written off?
