How’s the belt drive working out Graham?

    It’s going well.
I found it’s limits at SITS, the mixture of mud and grass getting wedged between the belt and pulley eventually broke the belt, although Gates have promised me a free replacement.
In normal mud and sand, it’s brilliant.

    Wow, that curtis is stunning!

Qwerty, how do you find the vitus? Seems to be the perfect no nonsense commuter/pub/messing about bike on a budget.

Hmmm I was eyeing those bars earlier. Candodavid would be interested in seeing them in the flesh some time.

That Curtis is lovely, but I’m still leaning towards the Singulars. They just look ‘right’.

I like the idea of being able to run gears too. I think I love my P7 too much to change to a 29er though… but maybe if Orange did a P7 29er…

That Curtis – yum. The welds are something else!

What’s the grey/silver Singular? That looks lovely too..

Kona Raijin. First foray into the land of 29ers, not had the chance to get out on it proper yet but should be off to Glentress on Saturday 😀

First mountain bike, bought off here. Well used, well loved. I trashed the freewheel pawls yesterday, so SS must be strengthening the legs 😆

Slight hijack, but I’d love to know how many of you are using these as your only (mountain) bike – or have you also got a fully geared 26″ full suss in the shed? There are some very temptingly beautiful bikes in this thread, but sadly I fear it would have to be an ‘instead of’ rather than ‘also’ for me to justify one…

Mine is my only mountain bike.

I have a 26″ SS with font boing, the XC9, and a Nicolai Helius CC, and a road bike.
The most ridden is the XC9, mendip, quantock, anywhere really.
Helius is mainly for big days out, where suspension makes it just a bit more daft.

All my bikes are singlespeed and big wheeled. from my light and racy to big days out in the mountains, chunky and boingy fronted. I may add a gearie back into the collection (1×10) for a something like a transition bandit 29er or niner WFO for alpine hols, but that’s it.
