This thread still needs more Enigmas

Cracked it- you can never have too many Enigmas

This one is now tarted up with carbon stem and seatpost, and Hope RD40 carbon wheels. Now I just need a decent engine

Nice bikes, what wheels are on the enigma?

De-stickered Prime RR50, they came with horrible glittery decals that had to come off but were £500 including tubes and Hutchinson tyres. It’s running Mavics on the turbo trainer at the moment though ☹️

Yo Yohandsome – that’s impressive, are you about 6’5″? ….and marginally curious…Singlechainring and normal rear block, you must be pumping out the Watts – get any KOM’s? and you do that on flat pedals?

I hear those BMCs are quick. Real quick. Too quick for Strava.

For all his inane questioning that is a good looking bike.

Pedal needs to be at 2 o’clock though.

    And valves at 6 o’clock.

    And in the small sprocket.

    And in the small sprocket

I’d disagree. The rear mech cage should be 90 degrees to the ground. Small sprocket bunches the mech up too much.

Unless you mean so it shows what a powerhouse the rider is.

Gets overlooked at cafes because it’s not an aero wedge in bright colours and I’m fine with that.

By a mile the nicest bike on here so far though, imho. Well, not by a mile over the other Rourke up there, but you know what I mean. Lovely. The more compact carbon with discs I see, as functional as they are, the better trad HTs, rim brakes and slim steel tubes look.

Those purple CAAD12s are really nice too.

    Correct : )

    Singlechainring and normal rear block

34T rear? Normal for a 2x gravel bike.

And that bar tape’s bugging me, either change color above or below the hoods, not half way.

Is bar tape above the hoods even aero?

52×11-32T, 6’4″, XT hybrid SPDs as it’s mah only bike like em a lot.

Get any KOM’s? Did Beyonce get any grammys?!

    Inane?!

Don’t worry, it’s just a lill tape to cover the cables going into the bars might even be aero.

I haven’t had a road bike for about 7-8 years. I didn’t half pick an opportune moment to aquire this, given that the roads are now virtually traffic-free 😀

This is my 6.8kg Cervelo R3SL. I bought it second hand and built up at a cost of around £1,300. I love it,

I’m jealous of some of those Enigmas, I’m jonesing for a titanium gravel/winter bike. In the meanwhile I’m riding this in the sunshine so life could be a lot worse.

@mrb123, the mudguards on the black Focus Paralane are Curana, supplied with the bike and designed to fit via holes in the dropouts and held by grub screws. They’re very good but nothing else will fit so if they break I’ll have to get some replacements from Focus direct.

    Cheers NeilA. They look smart.

What are the guards on your bike Captain Flasheart? They look fairly similar.

Mrb123, mine are the Spesh Plug and Play mudguards. Expertly fitted by a Yoda like spanner-God at my LBS and accesorised with a Brooks flap. They stay on all year round, as the bike is ridden all year round.

Never the slightest hint of a rattle. Proper metal stays and fixings are the key, I think.
