Self extracting crank bolts

Following a ham fisted incident in the shed on Monday night which resulted in a rounded hex head I need to remove the alloy cap so, When removing the alloy cap with a pin spanner on a set of middleburn self extracting crank bolts is it anticlockwise to loosen or clockwise?

anticlockwise on both sides for those bits (its pedal threads and bottom bracket threads that are sometimes backwards)
