I just bought a carbon one of these and was building it today, i come to put my rear brake hose in the cable guides on the down tube and it won’t fit in.
I’m using Hope Mono Minis, aren’t the hoses a universal size?

    Any advice appreciated.

    Flip,

I have a Spark and fitted Juicy Ultimates no problem. As I recall, the cable guides are two part jobbies held together with an allen screw. Just take them apart, lay the hose in the lower part and re-assemble.

Not sure if Minis have bigger hoses though?

Sounds like you’ve used 5mm shift cable.. the Spark hose guides have 1 4mm side and 1 5mm side.. shift cable goes in the 4mm size (4mm is lighter.. hence spec’d on the sparks oem build) while all hydro hose is 5mm.

Seems i have the old bigger 6mm hose, might need new brakes……

Or i can fashion some new brackets.

    Thanks for your replies.

Get a goodridge braided hose kit for the rear. About £25ish…
