Yeah – but we won the coveted wooden spoon!
So
Wales – the best team in the championship and deserved their #Slam for sure – but surely one of the easier slams to get as the rest of teh sides were fairly below par. Fought well and never gave up and dogged it out when needed.
England – IMO Lancaster set the right tone and made a team out of them again. desperately lacking some inspiration it the midfield but playing with grit, spirit and as a team. Lancaster to get the coaches job surely.
France – Shambolic in large and St Andre appeared to be unsure of how he wanted to play – and chopping and changing halfbacks does not help.
Ireland – time to rebuild. Losing BOD and POC just too much for them
Italy – nearly men again – pretty much closed the gulf and unlucky not to get the two wins they really need
Scotland 🙁 A shambles
From the first selection I knew it was going to be hard. Edinburgh had just played a great game against London Irish with Blair and laidlaw looking masterful – so Robinson plays Cusiter and Parks with Morrions and Lamont in the centres. From that point on it was never going to go well. Over anxious and badly prepared with ridiculous selections and substitutions. Played to less that the sum of the parts. Robinsons refusal to play the youngsters preferring out of form or known mediocre players instead has cost the team wins and IMO damaged the confidence of the youngsters. Weir has kept Jackson out of the Glasgow side even when Jackson was fit and played well- but as soon as Jackson is fit Weir is dropped.
As a Scotland fan disappointment is a part of the package but to watch the best group of players I have seen for 20 years end up well beaten and demoralised is really sickening.
Robinson said ” judge me on results” – well mr Robinson – you have been found wanting.
