I need to get round to doing this myself (rather than sending it off).
Before I take them to bits and find I don't have a certain tool or the wrong oil, what do I need?

Any useful links would be helpful too please

A bit of confidence is also useful.

And if you need to buy circlip pliers, don't get the interchangeable head ones – they are cak.
Get some proper circlip pliers – just make sure the 'pins' on them that you use to engage into the circlip are small enough to actually fit in the holes. I bought some from Screwfix & they were very tight.

    Very helpful.

They describe a number of steps – what do you regard as a normal serivce on a set of Revs, all the bushings and springs etc described or just removal of lowers and change of oil / clean-up etc?

I drop lowers, soak foam and smear judy butter on seals after a clean.
Then remove top caps from legs and drain out old and pour in new oil (5wt) and then replace lowers with 15ml of 15wt.

Easy job and you will wonder why they are so expensive.
It is quite a methodical relaxed job, a beer to hand helps.

Thanks Wally. I suspect the first one will be a pantomime of lost parts, stress and a couple of clowns with custard pies, then after that it will become quite satisfying. Cheers

Took the lowers of mine for the first time last night. Was super easy. Just cleaned them out, oiled the foams and refilled them with 15ml of 15wt in each leg. Job done

Hmmm… I like the sound of this. If I get a revelation I will be able to do all of the servicing myself, but if I buy Fox, I will need to send it off to be serviced at considerable cost (not to mention the fact that I would be without a bike for a while). Am I right??

but if I buy Fox, I will need to send it off to be serviced at considerable cost

Every couple of weeks as far as I can make out.
