Might have acquired a half day (paid!) near Redhill Surrey and think it would be a shame not to ride. I’m driving to Gravesend that evening so prefer Redhill and Easterly.

Acidtest suggested so good riding at Luddesdown Kent but now that I have a half day is there anywhere near Redhill or on route?

    Cheers

Thanks for replies. This Thursday afternoon as it currently stands (fingers crossed work doesn’t try to fill my time!)

    What are you guys based?

Ah, at work. Easy option for you is just park near the M25 junction at Reigate Hill and follow the NDW out and back. There are some cheeky trails on the hill itself near the cafe that could fill half a day – over to Zippy to see if he is free.

Thanks muddyground…a little late in the planning here but appreciate the advice. What is NDW?

    Thanks

North Downs Way. At the cafe it follows the path over the concrete bridge. Some stunning views. Easy to follow for a good few miles until Headley – Box Hill requires a bit of map rading. Lots of side trails to explore….

I’d second what Muddy says – that’s a good place for limited navigation. sadly I’m at work too on Thursday afternoon or I’d show you around too… The North Downs way also goes east towards Caterham/ Woldingham which is good too. It’s a scarp slope heading west – east, so pretty easy to stay on track if you understand that

@cjr whilst the NDW is excellent riding I think it woukd be a shame not to ride some classic Surrey Hills trails, who cares if you’ve a bit longer in fhe car afterwards. Winterfold, Pitch, Holbmbury, Leith – take your pick.

Yeah if you’ve got time head over to Peaslake or Leith Hill and ride some of the classic Surrey Hill trails. They’re both about 35 mins drive from Redhill if the traffic isn’t bad. I’ll be riding Peaslake from around 5 on Thursday.

    Thanks all.

Might opt for less time in the car as my life seems to be occupied by lots of driving so perhaps not Surrey hills this time. NDW + some exploring sounds fun.

6mnth old son so riding very limited at the moment.

Anything with fresh air and mud is awesome!
