Recommend me accomadation on the Isle of Man! (Douglas)

A gang of us are doing the End to end,(Isle of Man) in September,were looking for decent bike friendly accomadation (B&B/guest house or Hotel preferably with secure parking for the Bikes/Van.

I have stayed in the past at the welbeck Hotel,although this was ages ago,not sure what its like now.

the Welbeck was a dump the last time I was there..

From Memory most of the Hotels on the front at Douglas don’t really have car parks, you just pop it on the prom somewhere.

Stayed at the Empress, that was ok

Thanks MartynS,judging by the lack of responses,It does seem a bit lacking on the mtb/bike friendly front 😐

th hotesl & b&bs are not that bike riendly & are expensive.

if money is no problem then opt for the isle of mann package deal or if your like me a tight fisted yorkshire man camping is the only option.

i did it last year & it was great ,i will be doing it again this year.

don’t stay in douglas. Find somewhere else with more space. We’ve been three times now, once with bikes, twice without and it’s really hard to find good cycle friendly accomodation I’ve found. The BB in douglas we did keep bikes in said it was OK to keep them in our rooms and then gave us a room on the 4th floor! We had to carry out bikes up four flights of stairs after a days riding. Douglas is fine as a going out place but it appears to be pants for cyclists.

I say ‘we’, it was me who had to do it.
