Basically… Can barely leave house these days and can’t use Zwift presently.

Tempted to get a Wii fit setup off eBay. Presently my weight and my fitness is about as bad as it’s every been in my adult life. It’s effecting me mentally too. Want something that can be, initially, low intensity but that can progress as I get fitter. Possibly have a bit of fun in doing so too. It did be loud impact on my therapeutic willy and ball too… Unless I get carried away with a nunchuck…

As always, thanks for any thoughts/ info.

You might struggle to get a Wii to connect to a modern TV. I got ours to work with a Wii to HDMI converter I found on eBay, but the graphics were utterly abysmal.

the switch is a much better platform and the handheld controllers are really good at working out body movements (well they appear to be when watching my kids play things like just dance).

I could be wrong but, AFAIK Nintendo hasn’t changed the AV out in years (the Switch may be different). I got a Wii working using either an S-Video or RGB cable from my Gamecube.

Of course, the TV will need to have component inputs. I’m curious now as to whether mine does, I’d have to go check.

Oh, and, again I could be wrong but, I think the Wii-U is backwards-compatible with the original Wii for peripherals etc. So that might be a spendier but more flexible option.

Switch is HDMI only.  Wii has their proprietary connector to a lead  that either terminated in a s-video or component/scart. I’ve not seen a telly with component or scart for years. I think Samsung still do their odd dangling lead with what looks like an old iPod connector on it but they dont ship with the TVs for free. I bet Sony tellys still have s-video as it was their baby.

Yeah, looking at my Big Daft LG you seem to be right. There might be a connection in the middle of the back of the panel somewhere I can’t easily get at without taking it off the wall but bugger that.

There’s also what looks like but obviously isn’t a PCMCIA socket on there, is that for some sort of decryption card for satellite or cable? It looks nothing like a Sky card (and again, I’m not taking it off the wall to read the labelling).
