I am looking to transfer my 10sp Centaur components onto a new cx bike. My current cx bike has a standard bb whereas the new one is bb30. I don’t think that I can use the old cranks so was looking into getting the CX 10X Power-Torque Alloy Chainset but I am unsure about their compatability with bb30. The tech manual implies that they are not. Does anyone know if they are compatible and if not does campag do an adaptor – if so can I use it with the cx cranks or do I need to fit it to the old centaur cranks? Any advice appreciated.

I can see that they will fit the power torq system road cranks but I cannot find anywhere that says they will fit the power torque cx cranks…..
On the Chicken website it saysthat the cx cranks “Require POWER-TORQUE BB cups with specially designed double-lip seal for CX” – nothing about any cups required for bb30 compatability.

There’s a lot of silly looking bargains on BB30 stuff on CRC at the moment.

What frame you ditching then? It’ll fit me, won’t it?

    (Can’t wear lycra. Causes accidents)

Getting rid of the Pineapple ……sorry I meant the Pinnacle – size small which is roughly a 50cm frame and you are about the same height as me……

    Ooh!

    Send email wiv details innit?

Rode a Spesh Tricross through mountains and valleys in North Wales this summer; think I prefer the geometry of that sort of bike to my road bike tbh.

    Does it have pannier mounts?

BB30 is push fit. Campag cups are threaded. The bearings are installed on the axle on the Campag and sit in the cups.

    The systems are totally different.

Why don’t Campagnolo power torque cranks not work with BB30?

Hmmmm, apologies, there’s BB30 cups available for the Power Torque so you should be okay.
