Those H. Samuel Garmin Epix Gen2’s are back up at there £324.  Stock must be coming and going.

Took a punt on one. Had an awful experience trying to order on the website via Paypal.  Transaction in the balance and no order confirmation.  Anyone else get theirs ok?

Yeah I got my Epix from HSamuel just fine. Really pleased with it.

Can someone talk me out of the Epix please? The battery on my Forerunner 245 is getting a BIT tired (but still fine for any rides or runs I do) and I’m being tempted.

I was going to get an Instinct 2. Should I get an Epix instead? Why?

    Instinct for pure battery life.
Epix for failing eyesight….. That’s why I changed from Instinct 2 to Epix.

Curse this bloody Forum, curse you @kitchener and curse you H Samuel – a seamless and lightning fast transaction and now I’m 325 quid down.

Got the order confirmation email immediately, will keep you posted on delivery and the loathing with which I look at my hopefully beautiful new Epix (Gen 2) when it arrives  – ARRRGGGGGHHHHHHHH!!!

(I’m still on my Instinct 1 and it’s still great)

I’m still waiting for my bargain Lyriks from Sports Direct, they managed to just send a couple of fork tokens instead totally their fault, serves me right using them… Paid on PayPal so can easily go nuclear but quite like them to send the forks, had a recent update but it was nothing more that ‘escalated’.

So I got this 2000 lumen light from aliexpress, £11 delivered with a new email sign up

    https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005005201367829.html?

Now it’s a very optimistic 2000 lumens, at least half that and it’s quite beamy but it’s light sturdy, gopro mount (tho supplied mounts isn’t the best o have a decent outfront one already.) usbc

And has at least 2hrs on full beam

Also a big fan of the offbondage ones which has a wider spread https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005004731646004.html? £5!

When I think what I paid for my electron lights 20odd years ago for a pathetic glow, it’s nuts!

    Speaking of AliExpress

    203mm x 2.3mm rotors for cheapness… About £12 for 2.

Using them on the KSL with Hope T4E4 and they’re pretty good. No way I’m paying silly (high) prices for thicc rotors ever again.

Just a word of caution on Ali Express disks. I have a pair of the center lock zrace disks on my city eeb but they have worn out noticeably a lot faster than anything else I’ve ever used. They must all use lower quality steel? They have been solid with no play in the rivets and always straight though. Would I buy again? Maybe, but can’t help feeling it verges on false economy.

i genuinely wouldn’t be putting off/no brand discs on my bike, I’d sooner run an off brand fork or tyres.

@geomickb  Got my Instinct 2 (Standard size, non solar) on now (bought through the STW member discounts).

I need to charge it tonight as its on 16% – the ;ast time I charged it was Sunday 20th October before I went away for work for a week. In that time I’ve probably taken it off for 2 or 3 evenings when I’ve had my ‘dress’ watch on for a few hours with a Shirt.

Thats reason enough for me to buy it over any other Smart type watch – but I also like that it looks the exact shape and size and style as my old G-shock. It has all the functions you need but just with a lovely old school mono display, so you dont lose any functionality except perhaps full colour mapping.  I’d ruin a watch with a big glass screen in weeks – the Instinct gets worn for washing the cars, MTB, gardening, Mechanical Work, etc etc.

Stopped using my Garmin Edge+ HR band for cycling too, the watch does it just as well, easier, and just as accurate.

Looks like the pre black Friday sales are coming in, so I’d expect this thread to get a bit bloated shortly.

I fancied a Ortlieb qr handlebar bag to match my saddle, this was the cheapest I could find. About 1/3 off the retail price.

Opinions vary, but £330 for a non boost frame without shock doesn’t scream bargain to me?

Thank you for posting this : a bargain for a top notch single rimpact for 31.49.

    Or not?

Ive been hammering my year old ones to hell – recently thought I should really get a backup / spare. But they just dont die / get P’s (touch wood) or get damaged rims.

Anyway 31.49 spent. Hopefully I will continue to never ever need it!

Be a bit wary of any site  selling brand new YT frames. A couple of sites were shut down recently and according to YT when I contacted them  no-one else sells their frames.

I did look at those YT frames and wonder about the provenance.  Seems a bit random.

I’ve been rimpact curious for a while.

I’m tempted to get one for the ebike. There’s a few different variations. Which one will be best suited to the ebike?

If they don’t do a specific eeb version, then definitely get the rimpact pro

A bit of advice on those ones if you’re buying them for SRAM DB8s – which have slightly different calipers to the Codes the finned insert were designed for.

The finned bit doesn’t fit the ‘right’ way round, but does fit the ‘wrong’ way round (they’re marked L and R). In this configuration they’ll chatter and squeal like crazy. The good news is that you can file the finned bit down and they then work really well after that, and you can re-use the finned bit.

I appreciate this isn’t bikes n stuff but there are a fair few guitarists here:
