Are those Race face ambush knee pads bulky? Also is it right to size up?

    Thanks.

They’re fairly bulky, the sizes were way off last time, you’d need to size up by at least one size but who knows what this batch will size like.

I have size L ambush pads so ordered size L, couldn’t close them. Have just ordered XXL.

Did anyone order that £12 bearing tool kit from AliExpress? I did and received a plastic pipette today ahhaha. Oh and their shop has been closed down. Ah well the refund has been processed sent so nothing lost.

I bought one from eBay for £20. It arrived and is actually pretty good.

@feed Sportpursuit also have less bulky knee pads in. The indy is lighter (Enduro). Fine for pedalling in. In fact I’ve been pedalling around all day in some. Then theres two other lighter ones still for trail and xc. One is called the covert, can’t remember the name of the other one.

I bought the indy last time. Went off the raceface size chart, measured my knee area. Size chart said XL so I went XL and they fit perfectly. I’m very very happy with them so just ordered another pair for when these ones die

Plenty of IXS stuff at decent prices on SportPursuit.

I’d recommend the Trigger pants for under £40, but size up.

Their pads, jerseys etc. are top notch too.

My bearing kit turned up looking remarkably like a small hand polisher. Refund on its way…

Could be a winner if you have small hands which are a bit dull.

@oldfart, I am usually a size 10 but wished I’d gone a size up to allow for thick winter socks.
That deal has got me thinking of another pair of 11’s.

I have those boots but an earlier iteration. They’re very wide fitting so I wish I hadn’t gone a size up. Good boots though and a good deal.

I’ve been looking at the special deals on Pauls Cycles (https://www.paulscycles.co.uk/)

Not wishing to sound negative, but what’s the catch?  I’ve never heard anyone say to avoid them, but going with the old cliche of if it’s too good then it probably is…

I’m looking at getting a new bike soon, so if someone can ease my concerns then my money could go their way.  They seem to have lots of options, and not stuck XL or XS frames.

Bought a lapierre xr from them earlier in the year. It’s was a very easy transaction, quick delivery and when I did need to contact them they responded swiftly and struck a great balance of friendliness and professionalism.

Id have no issues buying from them again.

I’ve had a couple of bikes from them, picked up from the shop rather than delivery though. Never needed to follow up anything warranty wise, not had any issues

no catch. Bought a giant road bike from them. Collected. Had a few issues – frame was replaced near new then cracked after about 4 years. Warranty support was good.

Before the cheap days of chiggle we always used to buy our bikes from Paul’s cycles.

Re Pauls. I had one of the bargain Cannondale Jekylls that everyone bought a few years ago. It cracked (surprise surprise) but Paul’s handled it well.

    I’d buy again from them.

Merlin have big discounts on Giro shoes (MTB and road) eg Latch for £40 as an alternative to buying from the geordie empire.  Plenty of sizes across them by the looks of it.  https://www.merlincycles.com/giro-shoe-sale-259974

Ordered a bike Sunday from Paul’s, tracking suggest it’s out for delivery today. Seems really so far in that sense!

Pair up with a cheap 28h DT rim off Biketart, e.g. EX471 for £50:
    DT Swiss EX 471 Rim
