Hmm, CRC parcel going to be sent back tomorrow, Order placed with Evans instead!

I’m at £400 worth of gift vouchers and I am wondering if I should stop now……

Well, if there’s one thing that’s going to make them cancel all the orders – it’s everyone that has tore the arse out of it.

Yep, pretty certain that the £400 worth of vouchers is going to go nowhere fast. Might just hold onto the CRC goods until I’m sure that orders are going to be honered

actually I think it may have been spotted, I don’t think my payment is going through…

It’s more likely the amount of traffic on the site.

It went funny on me for a while – hence posting that I thought it had been stopped earlier. Also I nearly paid full price on one order as the discount bizarrely disappeared just as I was about to pay but I spotted just in time….

Based on the analogy “If something sounds too good to be true, it probably is”, I’d hold your horses before returning your CRC parcel. At least until you know whether they will honour your orders or not.

FWIW – I’ve ordered some 105 pedals, a 105 cassette, a Charge Knife, a Garmin mount set, a tube, some lube and some road shoes. So I’m hoping Evans do honour the orders 😉 fingers crossed.

This is why I’m into cycling!

Riding bikes is ok, I do it upto one time per week.

Spending vast amounts of cash on shiney things I dont need is where the real fun lies!

I fully expect Evans to cancel all the orders due to a misprint. I assume they are closed today. Op should have kept this to themself. If I ran evans i’d cancel these.

It went wrong once and spat me back out, but then processed my order fine.

One pair of Bibs winging their way to Australia, no VAT, £20 off and free shipping, splashed out on a set of Assos bibs.

Then got a couple of smaller orders sent to the UK while I am over for xmas of just over £40.

They should honour the single orders 😈

2 orders, shorts and glasses on one, and tabs, bars, padded undershorts on the other. I only really need the drink tablets. Lovely!

i dint think they will cancel, the cashflow will be nice, they won’t be losing

it might be the intended discount anyway

maybe they are scratching to pay tax bill at end of Jan, if so a few extra 1000’s will help them out and shift stock on, you never know

I’ve ordered and paid by PayPal. Once you’ve paid, that’s contract made isn’t it? Up till then it’s just an invitation to trade?

Annoyingly, there is nothing I need.

Ah well. Good luck to those who took the piss with several orders 8)

I paid via PayPal (using CC)- I have found that PayPal don’t always take the payment from our credit cards on the same date as the transaction was completed – can be a few days later. Not sure whether this “buffer zone” when taking payment would affect the validity of the purchase contract if Evans decided to cancel due to a mistake on their part.

Well I’ve had the quidco payment tracking email!

I expect they are hoping for a few orders that are at least a few quid over £40. (mine was closer to £50) And I notice that the sale is pretty poor in the lower priced stuff: (the things I bought were no more than 10% off) -perhaps they thought it would be a good way to get cashflow in, shift some stock and get a few new names on the database?

Well if it is a mistake then they are well protected in the T&Cs:

    6. We reserve the right to amend technical or clerical errors in any order without notice. In addition, you shall ensure that all details contained within the order are correct and we shall not accept any liability for any error or inaccuracy in any order.

    7. After placing an order, you will receive an email from us acknowledging that we have received your order for the Goods, and the delivery services you have requested from the delivery service provider. Please note that this does not mean that your order has been accepted. Your order constitutes an offer to Evans Cycles to buy Goods. All orders are subject to acceptance by us, and we will confirm such acceptance to you by sending you an email that confirms that the Goods have been dispatched by the delivery service provider (the “Dispatch Confirmation”). The contract between you and Evans Cycles will only be formed when we send you the Dispatch Confirmation.

    8. The contract will relate only to those Goods whose dispatch (by the delivery service provider) we have confirmed in the Dispatch Confirmation. We will not be obliged to supply any other Goods which may have been part of your order until the dispatch of such Goods has been confirmed in a separate Dispatch Confirmation.

When in the order placing process does the discount show up? I’m needing some waterproofs and about to place an order but can’t really afford to do so without the discount. It’s not showing at the point of putting my card details in. Does this mean it’s stopped now?

    Edit. Seems so.

Managed to get a spare x7 mech and a Spesh Hillbilly tyre before the party ended. Was in the process of ordering a Muddy Mary, a spare chain and a new chainring though 😳
