Gave mine its first run last night. A great bit of kit. I spent twice as much on a decent 32Gb memory card (which gives over 4hrs of recording) and a bundle mount pack including a handlebar mount, wrist mount and an adjustable angle mount. The quality of the mounts are very good – a lot bigger and chunkier than Go Pro mounts, which may limit some applications. Also the handlebar mount attaches horizontally so the camera screws in a good 3 or 4 inches away from the handlebar rather than on top of the handlebar as with a Go Pro. Its pretty firm and works well though I have noticed some high frequency vibration when you’re going over some terrain, which I guess is the whole mount waggling up and down. It only lasts for a few seconds so doesn’t really detract from the overall quality that much. The quality seems as good as any Go Pro quality i’ve seen – but I’ve not got a trained eye – I don’t know what barrelling is.
Overall for an outlay of £200 i’m chuffed. The battery life seems to be superior to a GoPro, it seems easier to use than a GoPro and i’ve now ordered a GoPro conversion mount so can use GoPro mounts. The GoPro is still the daddy, but this thing makes it look very overpriced – at £99 at least.
The WiFi mode works well. I left it on the bike on the roof bike rack and through the App I could see what it was seeing on my iPhone when driving. Also while driving I could turn on and off recording.
It has GPS but i’m not sure what it actually does, but i’ve only just started playing with it. Anyway thanks to the OP for the heads up – a nice little gadget. I’ve been wanting a GoPro for ages but not wanting to pay for one, but this is an excellent alternative at this reduced price.
