I run a 14 plate S7.
It’s a hatchback, so I can get my bike in – cross, road or mountain – the boot with the seats down is huge.
They are an overlooked car, people tend to go for the S6. An approved used low miler is mid to lower end of £30k, depedning on spec. many are the ex dem (mine is) so come with upgraded seats, the sports diff, extra toys. I use my company car allowance and the ££ I save by not having kids to pay for mine 🙂
It has the twin turbo 4l V8 – same as the RS7 (more expensive than the RS6) and RS6. Stock is 450bhp but Revo can remap it to 540 bhp. It’s the same engine as the RS6/7 just a slightly lower tune and different exhaust system.
Audis seem to have a habit of de-tuning S cars – there’s a good Chris Harris programme about this on You Tube – he takes a ratter S4 Avant and with a Revo remap it is pretty much neck and neck with a stock RS4 (albeit one is a turbo 6 and the other a NA V8).
Fuel wise, on a run it does 28 to 30 mpg. The engine when not under heavy load shuts down 4 cylinders, so you get a V4. Makes a big difference, especially if you set radar cruise.
Floor it and it’s single figures.
The only disappointment is the stock audio is ok, but not as good as the B&W in the Jag, and the exhaust note is a little subdued, even if you set it “full flaps”. ……
