    Thinking of getting one for bivvying/longer trips. Any recommendations,experiences good or bad appreciated.

    Yeah, thought that might be the case, especially on bumpy stuff, looks like its a big rucky then.

    I’ve heard mixed stories. The QR ones seem to be just not tight enough to prevent the thing rotating. Some of the bolt-up ones manage to get around this – but you’d want a robust seatpost of course. Even as a way of sharing out the weight, I reckon they might have some use. Depends how much of a load you like carrying on your back and how comfy you can get. Of course, a proper, frame-mounted, rack will always be better…
