  • Planet Earth II – oh yes!
  • I literally can’t wait for this, it looks like it will be stunning and great to see Dave is back to narrate. Should coincide nicely with me getting a 4k SUHD TV too….

Saw the trailer on BBC News, I drooled the breathtaking backgrounds and animals.

And also drooled thinking of the camera equipment used. Using my A7 and I could only dream of filming at that level.

Earth can be a nice place for holidays.

If I won the lottery this is what I would do set myself with the best filming gear and travel round the world. Dream Job by a long shot 🙂

I also got very excited at this.

The breaching great white sharks from the first series remains one of the greatest bits of filming I’ve ever seen.

The trailer came on earlier as the children finished watching another bbc natural history thing. They had just sat open mouthed in wonder, and did so again for the trailer.

    Can
    Not
    Wait!

Llama, a friend of mine makes natural history shows, such as Galapagos. Well, he was a friend until the intense jealousy kicked in! 😉

It’s made me get my Blu Ray set of Planet Earth out of the cupboard – currently watching Desert Lions

    will there be a 4k version ?

It’s filmed in 4k, but the BBC doesn’t yet have a 4k channel – I would imagine that it’s only a matter of time though, as the beeb were quick to take up the HD mantle. If not, hopefully it will be released on disc. We can only hope, as it is surely the least it deserves…

This makes me think – is there any documentary made anywhere in the world that is more visually stunning, with better cinematography and better narration than the Planet Earth collection? I doubt it…

Really excited about this. I am also going to make sure I sit the kids down and watch it with them on iplayer. I remember The Blue Planet when it was first on screens and it is one of the salient memories of my childhood.

Oh, and I saw a kingfisher for only the second time ever yesterday whilst out on my local Saturday morning ride. Chuffed to bits with that.

The snakes were like something from Greek mythology.

The penguin was playing the Gooseberry with those albatrosses, though.

I used to keep snakes, kings and corns, there’s something really honest about them. They are basically robots.
