Stuff for not losing your wheels etc.[/url] Looks like a pretty clever idea that could make sense for my commuter / tourer. Not ‘impulse buy’ cheap though, so has anyone used them and have an opinion to pass on?

am I right in thinking that its a dome headed nut with randomly spaced impressions that fit only the supplied keys?

if so what’s to stop say some shitbag with a tube of super glue and half a squash ball undoing them by hand?

I have them – definitely recommended – although you might also want to check out Pitlock. All the kit (except for the washers) is stainless steel – so while it’s expensive it should last forever. Only downside is the keys are a bit bulky.

As with every other piece of security equipment, it’s not impregnable against the really determine and ingenious thief – but it does increase the chances they’ll go find an easier target.

I have the original Kryptonite version, also in stainless steel.
Very light and secure, as mentioned will not stop the really determined tea leaf, but as ever its a deterrent.

Got a spare set if you were interested

Thanks for the replies folks, and for the offer TT – I’ll probably buy new though (I like me warranties and stuff).

I don’t expect miracles from anything like this, it’s not for a bike I ever plan to leave in scrote-central anywhere, but I’m planning a bit of a tour this summer, so will need to leave the bike unattended in parts of rural France now and then, so I’m looking for the best peace of mind I can get for the least weight.

You do realise that any shitbag with a tube of super glue and half a squash ball could undo them by hand?
