I think you’re missing the point. I simply don’t like it in the way I dislike celery, the very dull climb that comes out near Hope Brink and being savaged by badgers. I can do all those things, I just don’t want to. I realise that you espouse a sort of Nietzschean philosophy of mountain biking where difficulty is all and by transcending those difficulties, you attain some sort of higher level of being – at least in your own mind.
However, I suffer from none of these delusions. I simply enjoy riding my bike on nice trails and smiling and generally would rather blast down Dirtlow Rake and Pindale rather than mixing it with fat, dozy day-trippers stumbling up Cavedale and polishing the rock with their designed shell suits.
That said, I’m not telling anyone else what they should or shouldn’t like, though I think it’s telling that both Julian and Martyn agree with me, while the only person who supports your viewpoint is, erm, Hora. I rest my case 😉
