On the subject of large untapped oil reserves in the Firth of Clyde and the west in general, and that these were covered up due to Faslane and Trident. What I don’t understand is that if there is so much potential why hasn’t the Government moved Trident elsewhere and opened up the area to the oil companies.
Folk down south would welcome the new jobs Trident would bring, people in West of Scotland would be glad to be rid of Trident and revel in the job boom the oil would bring. The cost of one would be paid by the windfall of the other.
It would be such a vote winner I can’t believe that if there was that much potential it wouldn’t have already been done. Unless I am missing something?
