I’d scrub them with some meths & then take a blow torch to them
If they work – all good
    if not – bin ’em

Back in the day, we cleaned car brake pads with clothes soap powder boiled in cooking pots, seemed to work okay then.

    baking will work…

use of a blow torch is advisable for domestic harmony though 😉

use alcohol(cleaning alcohol here im talking about) or any form of degreaser wif wet and dry paper and sand sown the pad surface

if oil is completely soaked through the pad then u ll need to change them

Bake them in the oven. Wait until you are doing a roast or something and give them a couple of hours. Has worked for me – mineral oil on julie pads.

It might just be me, but people seem to make way too much fuss about spilling fluid on pads. i’ve managed to do it a couple of times, and after dragging the brakes down a couple of mild downhills, the brakes are back to full power.

Anyone tried sticking them in a dishwasher?
I haven’t but seems reasonable. Just a thought.

I was told to put them in a metal tray or something similar, put some meths in and set fire to them. I’ve done this just recently but haven’t fitted the reclaimed flammin pads yet so can’t say whether it worked. 🙂
