    It’s a bbc article with headline :

Masterchef’s Gregg Wallace steps aside after allegations

Another swathe of iPlayer content being rapidly removed!

I don’t get how the various production companies management let that behaviour go on so long though. Tell him to wind his neck in or he’s done. He’s not exactly global box office!

I’ll be honest he always wound me up whenever I stumbled across anything with him in it. Basically came across as a gobby bloke who used to be a greengrocer so knew everything about food.

That being said I understand he was a victim of sexual abuse at a young age, so that’s gotta mess you up a bit.

    What

    An

    Idiot

To behave like that in front of Kirsty wark and think you are going to get away with it is about as stupid as you can get

My Mrs and I both agree that MC will be no worse without him as he doesn’t seem to bring much to the table. It also really winds her up when contestants call him Chef!

Remember seeing/hearing an article where John Torode said they weren’t proper mates and he’d not invited Greg(g) to his wedding.

It’s also one of the least surprising bit of news. He’s quite clearly quite a complex bloke.

    @boardinbob

with all these cases, al Fayed, GW, Weinstein, Epstein, Saville, Smyth. it seems that people know, people raise their hand, but they are protected and keep getting away with it.

If people are getting interviewed as facilitators (fayed case reported today, Welby resigning for turning a blind eye) then perhaps we can hope to see a change where perpetrators are not protected by those closer to them

I commented on the Threads pic I posted above, Clarkson was fired by the BBC, quite correctly, for punching someone, yet they’ve allowed Gregg Wallace, and others, to carry on for years with impunity. It’s not good.

BBC needs to stop/sack these ‘stars’ that think they can get away with it. Good riddance. Clear out the whole BBC too.

Based on what I’ve heard about him, GW is not in anything like the same club as rapists and paedophiles. Inappropriate, yes, should know better, yes, but that’s very different to what the rest of those names got up to.

*judgement reserved until any cases of the above extremely serious crimes come to light, obvs.

Anyway. I can’t say as I’m surprised. Not that I’m a huge fan of Masterchef anyway, but I always found him really irritating. “COOKING DOESN’T GET ANY TOUGHER THAN THIS!” Sure it does, you could set the kitchen on fire and see how easier that makes it for everyone. Twerp.

it seems that people know, people raise their hand, but they are protected and keep getting away with it.

Plus, a lot of victims say the same thing on interviews, “what would be the point in saying anything, who’s going to believe a teenage girl over a national/international star?”

Based on what I’ve heard about him, GW is not in anything like the same club as rapists and paedophiles. Inappropriate, yes, should know better, yes, but that’s very different to what the rest of those names got up to.

Agreed. So far at least. He sounds closer to an unpleasant version of John Barrowman.

In fairness, that’s what the contestants are supposed to be there for.

Maybe not, but if emma kennedy’s threads posted by boardinbob above are reliable (which i suspect she’d not post if not) it’s symptomatic of the establishment turning of a blind eye to illegality that allows people to get away with it.

    Inappropriate, yes

As per the screenshot I posted, grabbing someone’s arse is far beyond “inappropriate”

Incidentally, I wonder what his (presumably) wife thinks of the revelation that he’s been running his mouth at work about what they get up to in the bedroom?

I was going to say “there’s a time and a place for it” but I’m not sure there is. I wouldn’t discuss my sex life with my best mates other than in very vague terms like “a girl I knew once” (or “back when I still had one.”)

I used to work with a gay bloke who did this. He’d relish* in coming into* at work and telling us in graphic detail what he’d been up to with his boyfriend at the weekend and then play the homophobia card if anyone complained. Mate, I’m not homophobic, I just don’t want to know. Moreover, I don’t care. If it was the hot lass in Accounts for whom a password audit revealed that her password was “Bondage69” I still wouldn’t a blow-by-blow* account.

    (* – probably not euphemisms)

I’m sure the sentencing tariffs are reflective of the severity…..but what’s your point….it’s not raping kids …so hey that’s fine….??

From memory he’s been through a few wives. I’m sure one he met through twitter after a very bizarre interaction. She left him eventually.

I’m reasonably confident that wasn’t his point.

Someone famous gets busted for (say) shoplifting, a poster here goes “yeah but Jimmy Savile,” someone else replies that it’s hardly the same thing and your conclusion is that respondent meant “yay for shoplifting”? That’s a heck of a leap.

Cougar, thats a whataboutery, he’s not say GW was shoplifting…  he’s effectively saying that altough GW was sexually assaulting female colleagues, but wasn’t raping kids so that’s OK….i don’t think that’s how it works

I’m sure they time these things to come out just after the popbitch email has been sent.

He even featured in today’s one, I’ll just copy it here…

    Gregg’s multiple entries

    Mr X writes:

“My friend worked with Gregg Wallace on a project.

“All the people on the project team had access to Gregg’s work calendar, on which there were multiple entries to ‘Have sex with wife’.”

“Alas, they were never able to see what the wife’s calendar said.”

FYI: Gregg’s media career was launched by a BBC R4 show called “Veg Talk”.

All I remember about him is he always comments on his wife’s Instagram photos asking her to print them https://www.thepoke.com/2019/05/07/gregg-wallace-wife-instagram/
