mildish day today, whole body nice and warm, apart from my feet which despite wearing 3 pairs of socks go completely numb 20 minutes into a ride, and take ages to get any feeling back. anyone have any good tips to stop this?thanks

Have your shoes got mesh venting?

If so, get some overshoes or better still some winter boots.

Wear less socks. You are blocking off circulation by wearing so many pairs.

Overshoes or sealskin socks – but cut down on the thickness of socks. Unless you’ve bought shoes intentionally too large, you’ll be cutting off the blood flow.

overshoes work for me on really cold rides, but as has been said above makes sure you leave room for your toes to move about. I’ve got two pairs of mid thermal sealskin socks – one pair is tighter than the other and they always make my toes cold

Loosen your shoes off slightly to allow blood flow.

Merino wool socks and/or seal skins (my spesh BGs allow room for both) and some Endura MT500 overshoes – yummy!

As above sealskinz, I wear mine over a mid weight merrino sock in 5 10s. Trudged about for 4 hours in the snow today, sometimes knee deep. Feet were toasty and dry.

Warm your shoes before you put them on, I leave mine on the radiator the night before. Never get cold feet now.

I have the endura MTB overshoes. Was out in the snow today for a couple of hours before I felt any chill at all on me tootsies. I think you can only get one winter out of them before they rip up/zip breaks, but worth the cash…

Loose shoes, winter boots, two pairs of thin socks and some overshoes. those are the lengths i had to go to to keep warm feet on a ride.

Regardless of the weather i’m now toasty warm
