My missus has been poorly of late, and leaving her on her own last weekend whilst I went out riding has created what I'll call an 'air of malcontent' in the house for most of the week.

This being the case I didn't arrange a ride this weekend, so we could spend some time together. Last night she revealed that one of her friends is coming to stay tonight, that they'd be out all day today and that the house needs cleaning.

So, I've spent virtually all day polishing rather than pedalling. To add insult to injury, the hoover set on fire (!), so in replacing that the new bike fund has taken a further beating, and the house is filled with the welcoming smell of electrical fire.

Drat, and double drat.

Chained to my Mac by WCA, trying to do this flippin' BBB poster. Wondering why I have no inspiration.

Thought I had it sussed, but the more I look at it, the more it just looks sh1t. Trying to produce something that encompases what the BBB is all about, and failing miserably.

Plus, my ear infection is affecting my ability to judge sounds properly, and is a bit disorientating. Kind of feel a bit unbalanced.

Uh-hu. My Mrs wouldn't fall for that one.

No, it really did set on fire! The motor has burned out.

I've already bought a new hoover so I can complete her commands and save myself a merciless beating.

I've had an inflamed liver for almost a month now so not been out on a ride since just after Christmas. Still no idea of the cause except it's not Hepatitis A, B or C, it looked ok on the ultrasound and I'm not a heavy drinker. Hopefully got a load more test results this week so should be closer to an answer but I can't see myself back on the bike for a while 🙁

... end of sob story

Still recovering from my back operation. The specialist says that I can get back on the turbo trainer in two weeks but not off road until April/May. I'm considering buying a road bike ......

Fell off last weekend; left calf muscle landed on a large root with pretty much my full weight behind it. It swelled up rather impressively, and the bruising and swelling has moved down my leg to the foot!

Out riding for 3hrs yesterday, then 2hrs rugby training in the evening. Thought I was due a day off after that so the GF took me out shopping. Game tomorrow now cancelled so might head out tomorrow though.

Reminds me I must go and wash my kit...

Been away with work last week so have spent the day clearing up the stinking, festering, steaming, mud caked horrendous pile of Ming which which has been in my van all week since the Strathpuffer. A veritable biohazzard if ever there was one.

Inners tomorrow..

Freehub is ****ed and I've spunked all my money on a new bike so can't get a new one.

I'm stealing the rear wheel off the other half's bike tomorrow and going out.

I have the lurgy... which is annoying as I was looking forward to getting out with Mr Foxychick over the weekend. Goddammit 🙁 Next weekend is being scheduled for grade A liver abuse of the finest kind too... which rules out that one.

Looking forward to life becoming straightforward again.

Too many chores to do, in-laws visiting, heavy rain will have turned local woods into a quagmire.

That enough excuses?
