Is this the first time you’ve met a sales person?

Do we know if the Sid on the comp model is the 32mm fork or the 35mm?

It’s the 35mm with Rush dampener. They do have a known issue with some developing loose bushings, RS are good at warranting them as it’s well known.

    More torn than ever!! 😂

Going to look at a Chisel today, but, I stupidly then had a mooch over to Canyon’s website, and the Neuron CF8 is currently discounted…🤔

Thanks for the input Kryton, helpful as ever. Not sure why he’d try to sell me the cheaper bike though?

As @coconut has said deffo the 35mm. Just been to see them in the flesh at Bikescene in Guisborough. Lovely looking things. The standard model is weighty if you’re looking for lightweight, the comp is much lighter – though I was comparing a small with a medium. Bloke in the shop is also selling his 2023 Epic Evo Comp… I’m sorely tempted except it feels just a tad too big in a size large. 😭 Also, the new Stumpy gets launched next week, but apparently I’m not supposed to tell anyone…fortunately no-one reads my posts anyway. 😉

In the flesh colours if it helps anyone. Also, guy who works in the shop who’s ordered the pink frame only option keeps getting delivery date pushed out. Currently September!

Was going to comment the same as you @fazzini – new stumpy supposedly out next week so if you’re considering one maybe wait for a comparison…

Thanks for the input Kryton, helpful as eve

My apologies, it was intended to be tongue in cheek humour, not an insult.

Yep. Apparently 150/140 and only one version so no more standard vs evo.

Ah well if it’s only 140/150 not really a competitor to the chisel at 110/120 so ignore me!

I would pick the Canton for sure, way better spec and lighter for the money. I’m put off the Specialized base model (£2k) as it does appear to be VERY heavy for that style of bike (XL = 14.86kg). To get it to a more respectable weight you would likely spend the same as the comp. I was told October for frame only.

My only concern is it’s too much travel for what I actually want it for. I’m really looking to replace my mile-munching HT, but with a FS for a bit of forgiveness for my back.

Just to counter that argument myself, again, however, the Neuron is much more ‘upright’ so probably better for my lower back and neck issues!! Christ, procrastination is the pits.

Totally get the argument based on spec etc. Especially at the current discounted price.

    Occam SL? on offer…

Based on the above, a very upright position and the Occams ride much more efficient-trail-like than their travel, they are taught and you can’t feel the suspension moving.    My 150mm feels like it moves less than my 120mm epic, but remains comfortable and very capable.

The smooth welds on the Alu frames are very lovely too.
